Eh, I don't think you are getting what is going on with the post.
Or maybe i'm not, but i'm going to explain the interpretation.
You don't tell kids to cross at the crosswalk = You don't tell women to dress overprovocatively / not put themselves in potentially harmful situations
You tell cars not to hit the kids = You tell guys not to rape
You tell kids to look both ways before crossing the street = You tell women to not put themselves in harmful situations
The entire thing can be summed up with, yes, 100% of the rape itself lies with the rapist, without the rapist there is no rape.
But, for allowing the situation to unfold where a rape occurs, is at least partially with the woman at fault.
I don't want to sound like some sort of misogynist.
Most of the rapes I hear about involve drugging / voluntarily drinking/taking drugs
As far as drugging goes, a woman can always cover her drink, she can always make sure that the man/men getting it for her does not drug it by watching the bartender make it and getting it from the bar herself.
For drinking, any person should know their limit, and only drink when there is someone with them that they trust if they think they are going to go past their limit.
As for taking drugs, same as with alcohol, only with people you trust.
As for rapes involving someone forcing their way into the house, etc.
I will admit, these are on the part of the rapist, but there are ways to avoid them, getting a dog, having a roommate, etc.
It is a very rare occurrence when a women is raped with no way of preventing it.
Again, I repeat, I don't hate women, this is not victim blaming I don't blame murder victims for not having a gun, etc. It's promotion of defense.
And of course, the golden rule when it comes to avoiding any sort of rape/accident/crime, use common sense, don't take drinks from that creepy dude, don't speed in the snow, don't go through secluded areas alone, don't drive with only one headlight, stuff like this.
