 I doubt many people would actually try to steal scissors on purpose. This is probably to avoid people taking them with them and forgetting to return it after they are done using them. The same with shopping carts. If you want to steal a shopping cart, a coin isn't going to stop you, their purpose is to get lazy people to return them, instead of just leaving them in the middle of the parking lot next to their car. #17 -
anon (01/07/2016) [-] My old research lab had a pair of scissors in one of the wet chemistry bays tied to a bench because it was needed for cutting parafilm for sealing all of the air-sensitive stuff. People would still untie the science scissors and take them somewhere else in the lab. There were like 5 other pairs of scissors in the lab, including a whole drawer labeled 'scissors'. But no, they have to go get the pair that is needed for time-sensitive operations and that may be contaminated with all manner of carcinogenic and/or toxic crap.  My gf and I broke up the other day I stole her scissors she had like 4 pairs though | ||

FJ got hit hard with a lot of downtime recently. I'm working hard to improve the site, adding new features (mp4s, webms, and GIFs in comments, new comment features, etc) and trying to make the site better for mobile.
