For example, before I was playing, my brother and his party encountered giant lions, and to avoid the conflict, one of the characters killed and skinned one of the kittens of the mother and disguised as a giant kitten. The GM said he had to roll a 20 (highest roll on a 20-sided die that, in most circumstances, guarantees that the action automatically succeeds) in order to do it, and he did. The mother picked him up and took him back to its home and the others escaped lol

Dungeons and Dragons. If you have no idea what Dungeons and Dragons is, the TL;DR is that it's a board game RPG. In some detail (with limited characters), it's a table-top game (essentially a board game) where one person in a group of people acts as the GM or DM (Game/Dungeon Master) and everyone else in the group acts as PCs (Player Characters). The GM creates a world, storyline, dungeons, loot, bosses, characters, basically the whole game, and the PCs start playing in the world fabricated by the GM. Dice are rolled to determine how well an action is performed. For example, if you wanted to, say, climb a building, you would have to make a Climb skill check. You roll the 20-sided die and add any modifiers to whatever you roll, and that's how well you attempted the action. The GM basically sets a number and that's how high you have to roll to accomplish the task. It's essentially an RPG made into a board game, where one person tells a story and you're the characters in the story.
