Isn't the average set at 100? I thought at least in my country that they would tally all the scores and then reconfigure the mean at 100, so that the score actually means something. I'm not sure, but i think it makes sense ?

IQ compares your actual age to your mental age, so 100 means you're as smart as you should be for whatever age you are (above 100 would mean you're about as smart as someone a little older than you).

This is why the average IQ is almost always right at 100, because "how smart someone should be for their age" can fluctuate based on how smart average people are at any given time in history (so in that way, yes, it does sort of reconfigure itself to a average number of 100) .

After looking at some statistics, I can actually agree with you and thomasampeir. I also admit that I may have been a bit biased when I said that -100 is dumb. I couldn't help but compare it to my personal score and I may have come across as a bit of an ass.

Indeed, an IQ of 100 at any age, means you're exactly as smart as someone at that age should be. it's something like mental age / real age x 100 (that is how IQ score is determined, and why a psychiatrist is needed to DJ 4DM1Nister a real IQ test).

if you're 12, and score what a 15 year old would be expected to score (15/12 x 100 = iq of 125). If you scored what a 12 year old would be expected to score, your iq would be exactly 100.

Actually in Washington State it is legal now. Any past problems with the law are now wiped clean from our records and cops are told to ignore pot smokers. 18 of the states have legal medical marijuana and the tide keeps turning in our favor. It is really hard to justify it being a schedule 1 drug when a third of the states are making it legal.
