So the machine they use for the weight test is just a pair of handles attached to changeable weights on a sliding mechanism. You kneel down, grip, stand, and lift above your head. My AF Liason told me that he let me lift it empty as a test, then with 40 pounds, then 100, which was the max. All in all pretty easy if you use your legs.

I'm so unbelievably excited for my job. Air force makes you list 8 jobs that you want, plus two aptitude areas. I filled that with as many Aircrew positions that i qualified for, and a few others working on the mechanical portions of planes. I will dangle my legs out of the back of an open C-130 at cruising altitude and love every moment of it!

Part o me worries about the math and such that i'll have to do in my head, but i figure they teach you how to do it properly, and wont toss you into a situation unprepared. From what i can tell, i gotta learn all of the metric -> imperial conversions by heart, as well as a lot of specifics for whatever aircraft i get stationed on.

If you do take this all the way, we should try to stay in touch. Maybe one day i'll fly by your base and we can snap a pic for FJ's sake xD

Hm... I may have to work out a bit to lift 100 lbs above my head. **** , that's over 2/3 of my weight in general. Legs have made lifting things so much easier, dude. I ******* love legs.

I was thinking about that, but I was thinking about post-military career. As fun as it would be, there won't be many options afterwards. The thing I picked is a high-stress job, but at least they get paid well outside of the military, I guess.
It's high stress because they're the ones that are supposed to keep the planes from crashing, but if I'm being taught to know conversions by heart, then I don't think it'll be a problem.

Well, loadmaster is a seriously hard working position. You're not gonna get much downtime like someone on a base might. Because while you do get stationed on a base, you get stationed to an aircraft that can honestly roam anywhere in the world. 22 hour flight from Florida to Turkey, unload, then fly back with a load of troops or something. There's a lot to be done. If you want to fly but don't like the idea of the open doors and ramps, maybe look at in-flight-refueling. Working on one of the Aerial Tankers, manning a refueling boom. Doesn't do much for real-life experience, or open up many jobs outside of the military, but its apparently a good job for making rank.

Conversions don't scare me too much, I just wince from the few horror stories i've heard of loadmasters ******* up... I mean planes have legitimately crashed as a result. I know that lives are at risk just working a warehouse or factory job too, but they don't often have youtube videos of them happening ya know?

I went to the Sacramento MEPS station because that's closest to me. I'm up at Lake Tahoe, right by the nevada/cali border.

I'm such a Supernatural fan by the way, it's pathetic. The Winchesters have quite the adventure ahead of them from S2 on.

5. Just the main content. I start at the #1 content and make my way down till i hit things in the 10's of thumbs. Used to comment on brony board just because they were actually sociable about day to day stuff, but i got weirded out after a while.

6. My mascot is a Kiwi standing on a Popsicle. There is no reason for it, it is just how it is. I have a T-shirt with that same symbol on it, that i have worn every single Friday past for 6 years. All because of an obnoxious and large chested girl who wouldn't follow orders in ROTC when i was a sophomore in high school. There is a lot more detail to the story, but thats all i need to say to get FJ interested.

7. Not too much to say without giving away personal details. Umm... I'll make the argument that the world gives too many ***** and should seriously just calm the **** down. That is my biggest complaint about life and generally FJ too. Too many ***** given about girl gamers, bronies, sexuality debates.... all of it. You're all pretty damn great if you stop nitpicking.
