Well she just sounds like a shitty teacher tbh. In my experience most female art teachers are considerably less helpful than the guys, so maybe its a recurring theme.

Alright I gotta be honest.
You seem to have a weak understanding of anatomy and rendering.
I know there's far worse out there but judging by this skill level and that you've taken many other art classes, I'm willing to wager that this is supposed to be a fairly advanced course.

I'll try to go over the problems best I can.
Ears are weirdly shaped, kinda looks like a fleshlight if I'm being honest. They're also positioned wrong, and the one covered by hair almost seems to be detached. Both of them are too high up on the head and (this is a point I'll bring up later) have no connection to the jaw.

Neck is lopsided and almost seems crushed in at a certain point. The angles are kinda wonky and combined with how you rendered the skin, it almost looks like rubber. There's also no muscle definition, which admittedly would be subtle, but it would be there.

Shoulders just kinda slide off at unsymmetrical angles. You need to look at shoulder plates and torso anatomy more to fix this. And the completely smooth shoulders add to the feeling of rubber since there are no collarbones visible.

Head is just unrefined. Massive forehead, 90 degree chin, and an incredibly thin and flat unsymmetrical nose that might be made of melting wax. There doesn't seem to be a definite jawline, which adds to the misplacement of the ears. Ears are normally connected about where the jaw hinge is, but there's no jaw here so the ears look even more off than normal.

Your skin is shiny. Overly shiny in fact, and oddly fresnel-ish. Look up fresnel render if you don't get it. Skin doesn't reflect light in this way, and it definitely doesn't rimlight like that under normal circumstances. I can't tell if it's your rendering technique or that you have no definite light source, but either way it doesn't work.

Basically you need more foundations in the basics. More observational drawing, more anatomy knowledge, and most definitely more refinement.

There are numerous other small problems like the jewelry not being affected by gravity or the lip being slanted weird, or the lack of solid directional shadows. But for now lets just focus on the big picture.

I disagree that the eyes look too high when you compare it to the total area of the head/face, but they are too close to each other.

i understand all of that. i do. i never claimed to be great at it. im a beginner. and this is only the second class for figure i but i toke other art classes that are not related to figure.
to help you understand how the first class worked, we basicaly focuse on how to get the general figure down, nothing more. barely covered shading or head structure. the class was more of a long test than a class. you come in everyday, and you draw. barely any comments from the instructor.

and how the classes are structured, the second class is far from being an advanced class. and as i said, i fully udnerstand the short comings of my work, an i have no problem dealing with them, however, she was more than willing to let alot of problems in others work slide, but not in mine. that is was what im upset about.

why be critical of me but not others?
my work is far from perfect, and i am more than happy to work and improve, but being the only one being ripped apart as if everyone else's work was pure perfection is one of the reasons im writing this. it made me feel like im worse than trash.

also, you wrote a nice wall of criticism, i thank you for it. you were clear with the issues. however, not a single thing of what you mentioned, was mentioned by her. her critisims was along the lines of " it looks like some one in the internet did it" or " you need to work on it more because its off"
nothing about rending, nothing about shading or head shape or chin, nothing that would be of value you to me to point out.
she did mention propotion but nothing dicussing whats wrong spesificly. she wasnt ciriticizing to teach. i put alot of work on these. and im willing to improve them but i cant exactly do that if she give comments that dont guide me to what im suppose to do. i cant even bring my self to go to critiques because i feel like im being interrogted.

thanks for you points, really. ill be working more on it. and ill probably post it when i think im done.

lol woah that sounds like that would bug me like crazy. I've played very few DOS games, like Battlechess and Doom, but I'd suggest looking up DOS forums and google image searches for DOS strategy games
