 It really depends on the kind of wave output you're looking for. Are you looking for more density in the lows, mids, highs, lows + mids, highs+mids, lows+highs, or all ranges? What kind of power source do you plan on running with these headphones? Are you planning on custom mods for the ear-pieces or are you going to use them stock? You can mod headphones? all i do know is over the ear is far better for me than ear buds since I have tiny ear canals. If you want a pair of decent, comfortable headphones, the Audio Technica ATH-AD500X Air's have a decent base with comfortable mids and highs. I have mine plugged into a AMP & DAC that I use for gaming. It's nice to be able to hear footsteps in the middle of battlefield 4 during a firefight. Plus their open-faced with some very decent drivers. Even without an AMP or DAC they should sound pretty decent in your laptop and still give you hours of comfortable wear. If you're in a noisy environment, you may want to consider the closed-face versions. | ||
