Did you see the post yesterday, that said if the minimum wage had gone up with inflation starting from the 60's we'd all be making $20 an hour. So, yes it's due to inflation, but since they haven't been raising the minimum wage to match inflation, we're slowly being paid less, and less. If I remember correctly the minimum wage in the 60's was like $1.50 which is equivalent to $20 today, not the $7.25 we've been getting, or at least according to the post that made the front page yesterday.

That doesn't match up, $1.50 then =/= $20 now.

If you did a little research instead of blindly believing what people tell you you would know that $1.50 in the 60's is closer to $10 today.

That's why I said "according to the post" because I didn't expect the post to be 100% accurate, in fact I expected it to be exaggerated to get the point across, but I didn't care enough to look it up myself, until heyabusa posted some links. I'm not even sure if $1.50 was the minimum wage back in the 60's, I got that from the post too. Either way I don't care for the specifics, I just find inflation interesting. btw according to the posts hayabusa posted $1 in 1960 is worth $7.80-7.90, each one is off by a few cents.

Not even book smarts, but IQ test smarts. Books require verbal agility and facility of language. IQ tests are usually graphical and wordless except for the explanation about the questions at the beginning of the test.
