Thankfully there was a guy with a concealed carry gun license or whatever its called. He stopped the guy before he stabbed anybody else. The cops said that the man apparently planned on stabbing several people. ugottadie (03/28/2015) [-] As walmart employee I can confirm that as low level associate the official walmart policy is that you are not allowed to actually confront anyone you suspect is stealing. You are supposed to report it to some member of management. But honestly it depends on how your store is ran. You might have a supervisor/store manager/market manager who doesnt really give 2 shits about things like that and you might have one that would fire you on the spot if the customer got mad about it. Personally, id suggest you to just supervisor about it if you ever see someone stealing. Since you're gonna be on register most of the time you might not be able to go tell them before the person actually get out of the store. But as someone else commented walmart has a "loss prevention" task force that will deal with it. I do recommend actually trying to get to sum1 before they make it out with the product as everything like that where the store loses money they take it out of your bonus(yes walmart associates get bonuses if the store is operating well enough that they can afford to give bonuses). Good luck with your new job bud. Also, if you didn't know Walmart just had a min wage increase so you should be making atleast $9 at starting wage after april. Good luck with your new job.  I never stop for the alarm. Once the alarm went off and someone tried to stop me, and I complained to her supervisor and not only did they reprimand the person for trying to stop me, I got a gift card. I totally stole something too. Double shit in her face, I started working at that walmart two days later. I fucking hate being stopped. They have no right to stop me. The have no right to search my person. They have no right to accuse me of a crime. If they suspect that I am committing a crime they need to call the police. I hate when people just stop for them and let them search their bags, it's a violation of their rights.  My guess would be that it is ether. It's the most common organic solvent used in chemistry labs and its fumes have the tendency to "creep" along the ground. The stuff is SUPER flammable and has a flash point of like 200℃. So my guess is he poured some on the ground, let the fumes spread, and then lit the fumes | ||
