Look up "the iron pillar" its in the middle east I think, even older, and still looks bangin. Wait, maybe India. >.> either way, same shit. I started forging a couple years ago when I got out of the corps, as a hobby and stress relief. Its great to make a functional blade with your own hands.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Battery It's possible they built these to power electrolysis, these batteries have nowhere near the longevity of these swords, might have been built in China but lost to timr

That's amazing, I'd love to know more.
Oldest sword I saw was 5000 years old, found in anatolia Turkey. Also bronze.
I've had a chance to handle a 14th century sword due to my dad's friendship with a museum curator.
Anyone who thinks european swords were heavy blunt instruments have no idea what they are talking about.

I just looked into it. It's not as old as he had thought, but it's still 2000 years old (Qin Dynasty) and it looks as new as when it was buried apparently. It's a steel sword but with chromium plating (which by itself is a marvel for something that long ago.)

He was using pounds, not euros. Whatever the case, 10 pounds is 16 dollars. Even if it was 10 euros, it's still 12 dollars. I'm still getting the better deal.
