The Naginata was usually looked down upon despite their effective range and effectiveness in battle, they usually thought only women used naginatas and samurais didn't prefer to use very often so naginatas weren't used to fight other samurais

I'd think they'd have some sort of sensor of sorts. I mean, landmines are different since iirc they work via pressure. As for anti-tank, I'd expect there to be a tiny space between the tank and the mine itself. so there very well could be some sort of IR sensor or some shit like that.

I would think real anti-tank mines would work the same way. Only difference is they'd probably blow up when the c4 does.

well, same way they work with tanks, they detect armor for a certain range and if it's in range, it blows up.

As I said below, I had an international relations teacher in high school who used to be an investigative journalist who was in Japan for a while. While he personally didn't go to jail, he did learn a lot that wouldn't be really said out loud.

I thought about going to Japan for international studies as well, but decided not to after doing quite a bit of research on the country.
