I think there is a slight difference , not for the meaning but for the judgement over the words negro and Nigger. In German I know the words "Neger" and "Nigger". While "Neger" is only a slightly offending term which was forbidden very late because of political correctnes, the word "Nigger" is very related to slavery and hate against black people. Same meaning, but other association and background.

Yeah, racism here in Latin america is almost nonexistent. Except for social racism.
My best friend is black and he has a shitload of nicknames. Negro, Shrek (Fiona too lol), Big Smoke, the Thing, etc, etc. He is pretty chillaxed about it.

was once on CNN a person happened to get shot during hunting and went to the hospital, but the people at the hospital refused because the police had to verify he wasn't an escaped prisoner or something. it took 15 minutes, he passed out due to bloodloss, he survived, but it gives a good example, LA i think it was
