| Its the same every 2 months. Too many people hear about BTCs, buy them, the price goes up. Only this time unbelievably high. bitcoincharts.com/charts/mtgoxUSD#rg1460ztgSzm1g10zm2g25zv bitcoins are not to be trusted the US dollar has value because it is backed by the US goverment the euro has value because it is backed by the EU the bitcoin is not backed by any government it only has value because random people on the internet say so and as a result its value is very unstabe #53

N. Korean citizen (04/23/2013) [-] Bitcoins' value are determined by the free market (absolute supply and demand) as a result, they are more prone to instability, but if the free market makes them valuable, they are therefore valuable. With most major regulated currencies being either insanely inflated, or preparing for a crash, bitcoin is actually more stable than they are if you look at the long term. In the end when there are no more bitcoins left to mine (approximated to be in the year 2140), then you may have a concern, but there are already alternate crypto-currencies that are starting up to take it's place when it has finished it's run. Yep, same as any resource. To be honest, their value as a currency is pretty shit. But as equity, they're beautiful, because they have this ridiculous, predictable pattern. If you want to earn money, in two months, buy a shitload of bitcoins, wait for the exponential spike to occur, and sell off before the crash happens. So yes, exactly like stocks or resources, or even money. After the recession hit and the Canadian dollar went up and the American dollar went down, millions of dollars were exchanged for American money and when the American dollar goes back up (if it does) those people will trade back and make bank. | ||
