"leaving" means "not inside a city".
and " because it was not the season for figs" implies that.. it was simply not the season for figs, and not any weird metaphor.

Read the text better before you ask others to do so, anon. And again: the fig tree was a symbol back then. Do I say that he did not curse it and that it didn't die? No, I'm stating that there probably is a deeper meaning to it as well, which is the case over and over again with the stories in the Bible. And I'll say it again.. that the deeper meaning could be what I already stated in my first post. Thinking that it goes very well hand in hand with Jewish way of thinking at that time.
