STI is actually more accurate because not all sexually transmitted infections are technically diseases.

we say either, but it's apparently seen as more politically correct to refer to them as STI's rather than diseases, regardless of the simplicity as to whether or not they're actually diseases or not. the political correctness in the uk drives me fucking insane.

Yes, it is sexually transmitted infection, and yes of course we say both STI and STD, a disease and an infection are pretty much two different things right?

yep. its the same as in australia. we used to call them std's, but about 5 years ago while I was in high school they changed it for some reason.

sti's and std's are separate things, sti's are generally easier to get rid of because antibiotics can solve the problem most of the time. i thinks.

We say both, and yes you're right, it stands for that.

I'm not sure if both are meant to mean the exact same thing, but they're definitely similar

I'm european, currently living in the U.K for studying. I never heard of STI. Only STD.

An STI is something like herpies, they won't kill you, just make life uncomfortable, but can also lead to something worse if untreated.

STDs mean you are fucked and likely to die, these include but are not limited to syphilis HIV and AIDS.

Herpes is an STD. It's a disease, not an infection. It doesn't go away.

the correct difference:

An infection is growth of pathogenic microorganisms in the body, whether or not body function is impaired.

Disease is any change from a state of health; impaired body function. The disease state is associated with the manifestation of symptoms such as fever, pain, aches etc., due to failure of immune system to control in the first round of the growth of infectious agent (s).

had to google it myself.. i'm not a biologist.

How are you paid? Are you called as a freelance writer? Salaried? etc. You don't have to answer any of these if you don't want to, I'll understand.
