venomthc (07/13/2015) [-] I it is hard when you are a wimpy, skinny drag queen that thinks only about the wank, what is a wizzard without a wank? Then there comes the gun. And dont start the bullcrap on hard aiming with one hand, judging by the usuall distance between wizzard fitin, you could shoot without aimin. Have you ever fired a gun? They're loud, and they have recoil, and bullets travel very linear paths. If you're not aiming, you're likely missing, unless you're like five feet away. Then, add in the complication of a moving target who does not want to get shot or can simply deflect your bullets by yelling some fake-ass Latin. There's a reason gunmen aim for center mass, to reduce the chances of missing. And, by the same token as your question, what is a gunman without a gun? A wizard without a wand still has magical items that may protect them or function as weapons. #23 -
venomthc (07/13/2015) [-] AHA! ANd there you have it, a soon to be dead wizzard need to scream something in latin while you shoot him and scream at him in latin. Cmon man, no wizard in HP would expect a gun on an other wizzard. We can argue all night about it, but thing still stands, it would be useful. And who said that gun excludes magical items, I am thinking more about expanding the arsenal not narrowing it as they did it already, those 6 inches of polished wood. It might be that I played to much D&D and lack of versatility makes me sad. If you've played D&D then you know that a wizard could easily cast Armor, Shield, Stoneskin, and countless other defensive spells to protect themselves from guns. And, spending feats on firearm proficiency might not be a bad idea, but that takes away from feats spent on metamagic or focusing on a particular school. It's definitely a neat archetype, but it just isn't terribly plausible in the HP universe. Depends on the D&D in question. 4E, Pathfinder, and 5E have lower-level spells that don't run out. Also, in 3E and Pathfinder, you've got wands with 50 charges, or staves you can repeatedly recharge by casting spells into them. | ||

| Yeah, but you'd either have to be a wizard, or a muggle who knows a lot about magic, in order to develop anti-magic bullets. The HP universe keeps magic secret, so I doubt there's a muggle who knows enough, and if you're a wizard you don't NEED bullets. So, a guy like Emiya just doesn't really fit. #15 -
venomthc (07/13/2015) [-] OBJECTION! The whole no need for bullets does not stand as a valid point, in FSN mages does not need bullets as well in their anti tech stand, plus creativity of charms and what not from HP would only make it easier to create techmage. Unless there is an unwritten rule that magic does not go well with techstuff. Which I would say is piece of bullcrap as Weasley chap got his invis car. In other words biggoted aproach of wizzards and witches is the only issue here. HP wizards have wands that can shoot death rays with unlimited ammo. Why the hell would they need guns?
