I doubt it, rockstar hates putting out PC ports because people pirate them since they refuse to allow steam to put them up for $20

watch inside gaming daily man, there was a petition for PC ver and it was successful, nvidia confirmed it and then declined(they only declined it because R* told them to so we wouldnt know if there would really be a PC ver) its coming out. dont worry

They didn't announce a time frame, but they confirmed that they will be working on one. I'd imagine it will come out with a GOTY edition on next gen and PC at the same time.
User avatar #25 - instakill (08/31/2013) [-]
yeah, but there is really no such thing as a "next gen PC" you can either run the game or you can't. PC's don't increase in power by steps, its more of a gradient depending on your overall setup, your OS, cooling, overclocking, the list goes on

I said next gen and PC. As in PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Death note was good, it's an anime. That's the kind of stuff I enjoy as well, I enjoy having my mind being tested and always wondering what's going to happen next, not to mention it was all done extremely well. As for bleach I've never watched too much of it so I can't really say, I have watched a fair bit of naruto though and it's not anything fantastic. If it didn't have any filler it would be pretty good, but it has a ton of it. I can't stand filler.

Anime is completely different from cartoons. Anyone that has watched it will tell you the same thing. Maybe you should try one sometime and see for yourself, what kind of stuff are you into? Like horror, action, romance, comedy etc... Anime is very broad and has something for everyone to get in

Cartoon - a motion picture consisting of a sequence of drawings, each so slightly different that when filmed and run through a projector the figures seem to move.

Anime isn't this how...?
User avatar #37 - cozer (08/24/2013) [-]
It is different, it's not something that can really be explained. It just has a different feel to it than cartoons, anyone that has tried watching anime will say the same thing. It has a different culture behind it and it's just drawn different.

I'm going to get into this, just to be a total dick.

Let's take a look at the definition of a cartoon, yes? "a simple drawing showing the features of its subjects in a humorously exaggerated way" or alternatively, "a motion picture using animation techniques to photograph a sequence of drawings rather than real people or objects."

Is anime drawn? Yes. Is it exaggerated? Yes. Is it animated? Well that's where the name comes from. So if it sounds like a duck, looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and flies like a duck, it's a fucking duck.

Cartoons can be just as broad. It's just rare for a horror cartoon to exist because a majority of Western cartoons are based on a younger focus group. The only differences between anime and Western cartoons are quite simply the art style and the focus group. I'm not saying one is better than the other, I'm just trying to show that trying to say that anime is distinctly different and deserves it's own deviation from cartoons based on focus groups is like saying that 'Lion King' and 'Taken' can't both be movies because 'Lion King' is focused towards a familial focus group and 'Taken' isn't.

And don't get me started on art style. If you say that since anime looks different it gets to be special, you're basically saying that Picasso can't be art because it's well established that Da Vinci did art, and Picasso looks nothing like Da Vinci.
User avatar #14 - cozer (08/23/2013) [-]
Well the reason anime is called anime and not cartoons is because it is different. Sure there are some very very few cartoons that aren't based around comedy or some sort of cartoonish action, but the general audience for cartoons is usually kids of young ages, or with stuff like family guy or south park it's meant for older audiences for fun, it's not really that serious, which is great. Anime on the other hand you can't really put towards a specific audience, you have people that watch only romance or only one genre and then you have people that watch pretty much anything as long as it's good. It has alot wider spectrum than cartoons and it is distinctly different in every way than cartoons besides the fact that it is animated.

What i'm basically trying to say is that in general anime is a more serious and intimate viewing experience, there are plenty of animes that you can watch with your friends, but there is an equal amount of anime that deserves attention and that need to be experienced to the fullest, with headphones on, taking in everything and getting the full experience. Cartoons are really just a couch or laid back experience, which like I said is perfectly fine. Not everything needs to be serious, there needs to be fun and silly stuff to watch or play, if you take life too seriously then you never enjoy, and if you do nothing but enjoy life it's going to hurt you later down the line.

Anime is for everyone, saying you don't like anime is like saying you don't like music or movies. Maybe someone had a bad experience and watched a bad anime, or watched something that wasn't suited for them, which happens all the time, but I genuinely feel that anime is for everyone if they found the right genre to watch.

Anime is by no means perfect, it has plenty of flaws itself. Even though hate to admit it anime has gotten to a point to where a lot of fanservice and perverted stuff has been made lately, but there are still tons of great anime there for everyone.

Animation is a visual medium. If someone doesn't like the style involved, they're not going to be able to get into the story. I know each series has it's own style, but ti feels like there's less diversity in it now than there was in the 80s or the 90s.
User avatar #38 - cozer (08/24/2013) [-]
True, it's sad but true. There seems to be alot less diversity and lower quality anime coming out as of late. There are still really good anime coming out such as aku no hana, and i've heard that attack on titan was really good, but the overall quality of anime is just worse than it was a few years ago. Panties and filler is what seems to be the norm nowadays :/
User avatar #8 - werefell (08/23/2013) [-]
Anime is a specific sub-genre of cartoons originating from japan. It's name "anime" is a shortened form of the word animation. The reason that it is upsetting to fans of anime for someone to call it a cartoon is because it is a misleading overgeneralization that shows ignorance of the culture of the show. It would be like someone watching a documentary on microbiology and then saying science is dumb.
