Indeed, only to find out that Nintendo won't release a gen 2 remake until like a few years or even never.

Uhhh... Heart Gold/Soul Silver? It already happened, it's done now.
However, since Gen 6 intruduced megas for the 1st Gen starters, we can pretty safely wagger Gen 7 will give megas to Gen 2 starters.

Nope. Z moves took too much RnD, no new megas

Less than a month till the game it out and there hasn't even been a single new mega reveal. Z moves and alolan forms for gen 1 is the gimmick, old megas are only included because they have to

Until megas were comfirmed to return, people firmly belived they would be replaced by Z-moves. Goes to show how fucking wrong this kind of assumptions can be.

Megas are so far out of the spotlight that they hadnt bothered to talk about them. To create a whole new set of pokemon, as well as revamp old ones, add the clusterfuck animation and mechanic of z moves, reinventing the entire gym system, and probably some more shit i dont know about because i stopped looking as spoilers, more megas just doesnt seem reasonable

i mean in the newest trailer they confirm the return of megas. I doubt they will add more megas, as the competitive scene has voiced massive disdain for them and a lot of what that trailer showed was indicating a focus on helping the competitive side of pokemon.

its not 100% that they won't create new ones, its about a 40% chance that the starters from 2nd gen will get megas
