| oh I see ... so the liver basically is regrown as a healthier version of its previous self? No the original cells are killed off. I guess I should explain. The end result is a healthy liver but its not exactly its previous self. When we kill off the cells, all thats left is proteins and a cellular scaffold, which is then filled with stem cells (or IPS cells), normally taken either autographically or allographically. I guess it can be considered "regrown" but its not like we use the original cells and revive them to a healthier whole #30 -
