Hello, I am USarmyExplain, I am an army veteran who is looking to answer some fucking explanations. I really haven't been paying attention to these things, I just wanted to get the name before anyone else did.

Mostly I want to answer questions about the "fog of war", like if you ever wanted to know the real story behind anyone that was KIA in the us army instead of the standard "he died a hero" bs the feed everyone. I either know the answer, or can find it.

Denying it makes it weak enough for you to control, feed it and it's just going to want more. Not much more, not all at once, just gradually. Just a little more depraved drawing, just something a little spicier than what you saw before. That's how the male reproductive drive works, once you've been aroused by something it's not going to arouse you the same way again.

Saw this while searching for content and thought about our conversation.

That's one way to refund your munitions. No hard feelings though, I like you.
User avatar #125 to #124 - usarmyexplain (08/29/2015) [-]
That is an example of overspending; they are replacing a close air support aircraft that costs $11million per unit aircraft with a general purpose aircraft that costs $35million per unit and isn’t as good at close air support.

It's not that I don’t think the military overspends, I they just don’t do it on munitions.

KBR has made over $80 billion of the war on terror, doing things that the DoD could have done for less.
User avatar #126 to #125 - Sewallman (08/29/2015) [-]
Eh, well it made me think of you.

I do hope there are no hard feelings from our discussion earlier. I don't like getting into pissing fits with other people, especially the explains because I have asked you questions before and I try to mention you when ever I see overly ignorant people.

Everyone on facebook thinks I'm a huge asshat for how often I debate or discuss my opinions.

I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes I'll start getting into it on FJ then I'll have to take a second and say "Hey, I like these people. Why am I doing this?"
User avatar #129 to #128 - usarmyexplain (08/29/2015) [-]
Debating somebody does not mean you dislike them, rather it demonstrates that you respect them enough to listen to their ideas and present yours to them.
I can think your opinion is wrong or uninformed without thinking less of you. If you think I’m wrong I’m not going to get very upset about it.
If you prove somebody wrong By that I mean if you give them information that changes their view on the subject you’ve improved a small part of the world, if you are proven wrong you have a chance to improve yourself.

Not sure if you can help me with this, but do you happen to know what uniform engineers and engineering officers wear in the army, navy and RAF? Doing a little... Personal research, should we say. I'm bored of forensics. I need a change.
User avatar #114 to #113 - usarmyexplain (08/17/2015) [-]
Same uniforms as everyone else, except they have army corps of engineers branch insignia.

The navy has a naval construction battalion, aka the Sea Beas, they wear the same uniform, but their ratings are worked into their rank insignia.

IDK about the RAF royal air force?
User avatar #115 to #114 - sciencexplain (08/17/2015) [-]
Yeah, royal air force, but I just realised the stupidity in asking you. I'm looking for the Royal services uniforms, but you know the American equivalent. Dammit.

They dont wear their dress uniform all the time
User avatar #119 to #118 - sciencexplain (08/18/2015) [-]
So, what's that for? Because I thought colour determined the forces you were in. Like, that's combat terrain coloured, so it's army uniform? Or would other forces wear something like that? I only wanna know because I wanted to be an engineer on the carriers, and I don't know what they'd wear, but I should imagine it would be loose fitting and not all "dress" like. I'll happily dress formally for when the event calls, but I'm not wearing ******* ironed shirts all the time.
#120 to #119 - usarmyexplain (08/18/2015) [-]
Man, all these British questions, but I'm trying. That is the RAF ground uniform, for general duty purposes and ground crews. Yes, different branches have different uniforms, and specific jobs wear different uniforms, but they aren’t drastically different and most are situational.

Here is a link to the Royal Navy uniform regulation

The pictures of uniforms start on page 14

If you cant see yourself wearing an ironed shirt, the military may not be for you.

I'm signing up as an 18x. Any idea what that school will be like (I don't have to go to boot, I'm prior service) and what challenges I'd face?
User avatar #71 to #70 - usarmyexplain (12/27/2014) [-]
Well, it's ******* hard. Did your recruiter give you a manual? There is some sort of handbook that outlines everything you need to do to pass. Also, if you fail selection you become an 11B and you would have to go to basic training again.
User avatar #72 to #71 - dashgamer (12/27/2014) [-]
They haven't given me anything but a packet to apply for a secret clearance.
I mean, everyone said Marine Corps bootcamp was ******* hard, but it wasn't that bad. How tough can 18x be?
User avatar #80 to #72 - usarmyexplain (12/27/2014) [-]
www.sorbrecruiting.com/Text/SELECTED_EBOOK.pdf

As hard as boot camp is, it's designed to build you up and pass you, you gradually do harder and harder **** . Selection is designed to fail 90% of people. 21 mile ruck marches, 3 day solo landnav courses where they send attack dogs after you, tasks like “carry this 20 gallons of fuel 10 miles”, they will let you die if you dont ask for help. They intentionally sign too many people up, then make everyone do PT till enough people quit.

I know many people that went to selection, and I only know one that passed, he built himself up to run 20 miles a day, not masturbating or having sex for 6 months, and 2 large pizzas in addition to his 3 meals a day from the chow hall.

He said what helped him survive selection was hatred.

I met another guy who washed out after selection, he said he conditioned with a 100lb ruck for 9 months to pass.

User avatar #86 to #81 - usarmyexplain (12/27/2014) [-]
There is some TM out there that outlines what you need to do, like point by point "if you do this you will pass" stuff, your recruiter should have one of those for you.

User avatar #85 to #83 - dashgamer (12/27/2014) [-]
I know it's awesome. That's why I'm signing up. The Marine Corps would demote me back to lance and then phase me out as an eight year corporal, so the Army's the only viable option for me and the only thing they're offering to prior service is 18x, so it's either get through this or nothing.
User avatar #89 to #85 - usarmyexplain (12/27/2014) [-]
But SF ranks start out at sgt. Like, when you go to selection you default to e5 pay.
User avatar #91 to #89 - dashgamer (12/27/2014) [-]
Ah, but they told me I'd go in as an e-4.
User avatar #93 to #91 - usarmyexplain (12/27/2014) [-]
Well, yeah, but once you go to selection you start out as an e5, they do it so nobody can lock up some SF soldier at parade rest for no reason. All their ranks are one higher than the regular army. So a SF company is lead by a major, while an army company is lead by a cpt.

Black ops refers to black budget operations, where congress and the american people know the money is being spent on something but the details on the reports are blacked out.

First, you join the military, then you pass special forces selection and you are in the elite club, but those guys aren't black ops. You have to earn the respect of the best and be recognized as one of them, then if the top teams pick you up you will go on operations with them. Some of those operations will be "black ops"

Yeah, no. That's fake... Maybe. You gotta remember, DARPA figured out a way to weaponize dolphins and sea lions I wouldnt doubt that there was a program to do something like that at some point, but surgical implanted teeth for dogs is really impractical.

For the most part, military dogs are really just normal dogs trained to do military crap, kindof like police dogs, but mostly they aren't trained to find narcotics unless they are in a MP unit that looks for that sort of thing.
