I think you missed the whole "gaming" portion of the original picture. They're bashing on mac for its gaming abilities here. If it's ok for school fine, but it's shit for gaming.

Steam has allready a lot of Mac ports on it, also Blizzard ports their games and some games like the new Batman ones also have a port.

You need a pretty expensive Mac to play games with acceptable graphics, tough. To buy a Mac just for gaming is crackbrained. But if you need it for something als or have one allready, there is at least the option.

I don't really know why you would need one for school.

A colleague of mine which studies movie directing and management needs it for the cutting of his movies.

I bought one as a notebook with similar specs was just 50 bucks cheaper with my student discount and I was curious about the OS. For university work I prefer it as it has pretty much every tool on it you'll need. From PDF tools to music and so on. For gaming I use my self built desktop.
