I would absolutely love to work on a stopmotion movie! And if I would have a chance to work on one, I wouldn't even hesitate. (Even if that meant I would have to travel to a different country) So I'm sure there are enough people that would like to work on them.
But I also think that not a lot of people really appreciate the movies.
They really don't care about the work and effort they put in it.
The would rather just watch the movies the bigger companies spit out. Cause there is a lot more of that in a year. And they look a smoother and stuff.

And yeah, it would be a great medium for indie films. I can totally agree with you on that. P.S. That's okay, I like wall-of-text replies. I hope anything I just said made any sense though.

If you're going to do a Claymation movie, might I suggest a psychological horror? The weird bendy aspect of the bodies and overall softness of Claymation lends itself REALLY well to that. I'd do one myself, but I'm better at hand-drawing anyway, plus my ADHD means I'd get bored with it after maybe 5 or 10 minutes.

I agree with you, not a whole lot of people like the stopmotion movies, mostly I guess because they don't have enough action. But there is something in my opinion that's even more compelling about the subtleties of a slow-moving story like stopmotions tend to do. I mean, you could technically make an in-your-face-action movie with Claymation, but it just wouldn't feel right.

If they where Asexual, there'd be WAY less weirdass hentai coming out of that country
User avatar #66 - thewindmagevaati (06/04/2014) [-]
Not necessarily. They don't want relationships in general because they find them to be to much work, and sometimes will just prefer having 'relationships' with dating sim girls.

Or not interested at all be it virtual or non-virtual but can still find someone attractive. Like myself.

Asexuals aren't sexually attracted to anything whatsoever, while "Herbivore Men" just never go out to pursue a partner because they don't feel they need to.

I really don't understand how people could get nightmares from Coraline.
I found it creepy and such, but in a good way.
And yeah, that's also what I love about stopmotion.
Sadly it's a dying genre.
User avatar #55 - unusualember (06/04/2014) [-]
Eh, granted I'm kind of a lightweight when it comes to scary things, mostly due to self-imposed sheltering from scary stuff (it's a vicious cycle.)

I agree that it's sad that stop-motion is dying off, but I can sort of understand the reasoning behind it. I mean, not many people especially not in today's instant-gratification culture would be willing to go through the painstaking, finger-cramping hours and hours long process of making a stop-motion film. The upside of those films, though, is that if someone actually does elect to do that, you can be damn sure they're going to take it seriously.

BTW I think stop-motion and especially Claymation are an excellent medium for indie films. P.S. Sorry for the wall-of-text reply.

User avatar #26 - unusualember (06/04/2014) [-]
Exactly.
I actually had to deal with something like this: my crazy biological mother. Apparently when CPS found me and my sister, we were locked in the upstairs bathroom covered in shit. She didn't know what else to do with us, or so she said. Luckily, I was only 1 year old at the time, so I don't remember any of it. But yeah, I now have a very nice adoptive mother. Have had her for 19 years.

User avatar #27 to #26 - unusualember (10/28/2013) [-]
Disturbed, Lordi, Within Temptation, and Alice Cooper (not sure if he's metal though, or just shock rock.)

I think I just made a new friend. Have you seen any of them live?
User avatar #32 to #29 - unusualember (10/28/2013) [-]
No, they're always performing in Oz or some **** , never even vaguely near me. Doesn't help that my town is less than well known. Still, I dream of perfecting my demon costume, putting it on, and going to a Lordi concert with my boyfriend (he's the one who turned me on to them.)
User avatar #33 to #32 - guitarmanforever (10/29/2013) [-]
I saw them a few years ago. They're definitely worth seeing. I got to go backstage and meet them too. They're some of the nicest people I've ever met. If you EVER get the chance to see them, take it.
User avatar #34 to #33 - unusualember (10/29/2013) [-]
Oh **** yes I'd meet them if I got the chance. I've seen interviews, and they really do seem like nice people. Completely against the stereotype of "all metal is Satanic and Evil."

Also love how Mr. Lordi's speaking voice is nothing like his singing one.
User avatar #35 to #34 - guitarmanforever (10/29/2013) [-]
I like how they're more influenced by Kiss and Alice Cooper, and not like Gwar and Slipknot and stuff like that. I met them back when Kita was with them.
