Pure wool against your bare nuts? Those things must itch like a motherfucker.
#130 - unijaw (05/04/2013) [-]
They are Scottish they have more problems than itchy balls. If nothing else midge bites are far more distracting. I wear a wool poncho against my skin quite often. When your running through rain, mud and nettles itchy skin is not your number one concern :p I'm against going commando under a kilt however. Anyone who's been bitten on the dick by a midge can tell you that its a bad idea.

A proper kilt is just a big bit of fabric traditionally wool. that's folded and held in position. by a brooch.

How did she get the land? The poster above say 1/6 is owned by the queen..
User avatar #226 - namesboo (05/02/2013) [-]
I think he means the common wealth but the land that personally belongs to her is what she rents out...and she got that 1/6 from the glory days of Victorian Britain where we owned places like Australia and India also known as the common wealth (sorry if any of this is wrong im just saying from what I think without searching it on google)

I`m not a socialist. All i`m saying is that she doesn`t bring in money. We could make more from letting tourists into buckingham palace. And to say that a lot of money isn`t spent on the crown is ridiculous. 24/7 security and over 100 people employed for the crown. We aren`t really a monarchy its a constitutional monarch where the monarchy has no real power in practice.

So yeah.
User avatar #237 - turtletroll (05/03/2013) [-]
The total value of £44.5 billion includes £18.1 billion of assets including the Crown jewels and royal palaces. On top of that, the monarchy is reckoned to be worth an additional £26.4 billion because of the economic benefits it brings to the UK, through the boost to tourism and other industries.

As is said. We can earn more without the crown from tourism by opening the royal houses to tourists.

Please make sure you read things properly.

Do you honestly expect to earn a billion pounds annually from a museum?
User avatar #241 - turtletroll (05/03/2013) [-]
Its a palace and a historical landmark. People are more likely to visit if they know they can actually go in it and not just stare from a distance.
