His claws were bones, I think, and his healing factor is natural. That is the only reason why the adamantium didn't kill him.

Actually, there are two versions, one where he was born with bone claws, and the other where they were built into his during the adamantium injections.

Also, he has a healing factor, as many other mutants and heros have. And you can kill anyone with a healing factor by beheading them. Obviously Wolverine is immune to this after the adamantium was added to his skeleton, but Deadpool still stuck it to him by torching his crispy bones with a flame thrower after his healing factor started working.

The reason Deadpool is also exempt from this rule is his ability to remain, for the most part, conscious, even after a beheading. This is due to a curse instilled by Thanos.
