limberlarry (12/26/2015) [-] But thats what you did do, its a big part o why things went so badly no we didn't if we had gone balls deep, we'd have been bombing their churches i forget how you spell it , we'd have been leveling entire villages with artillery and bombs, we'd have been burning them out of every cave in the mountains with thermobaric weapons, storming every building left standing and shooting down anyone in our way but we didn't, we let the civilians have their churches, their homes, and their farms, which is exactly what the fighters used to stockpile their weapons and hide from us for so long #82 -
limberlarry (12/27/2015) [-] In what universe would deliberately killing civilians and targeting temples be an effective tactic against ideological guerrillas? take out the civilians, nothing left for them to hide behind but we didn't do it, we decided to leave the civilians alone, and they used that against us it wasn't a fight of wits or strength, it was a fight of self control, because no matter how much you hate america, you know god damn well that if it's a fight of strength, nobody on earth could contest us without the use of nukes, obviously #43 -

| People who like to feed their depleting reasons to be afraid of something. Sometimes thats what some people need. And making '' headlines'' like these does just that and everybody are ok with it. We get it, sandniggers suck. inb4 being accused of being moslem. No one cares that it's a muslim. 90% of the people on here don't hate muslims, we just make jokes. The thing that people are laughing at, is in an attempt to encourage diversity, they're letting someone who doesn't celebrate Christmas, host something dedicated to Christamas. In itself, it's not the big of a deal, but since Sweeden has be getting "diverse" recently, it makes it really hilarious. Hilarious for you, and me, but attention gathering for the media, and thats all it matters for them. Thats the only aim of that headline, be it a good one or bad was my point. I will be surprised if my #5 dont get the reds. I didn't realize you were attacking the headline. I totally agree with you. I mean the chosen hosts name is Gina for fucks sake, they are overdoing it so much. She is probably one third muslim lol. anyways, merrehxmas | ||

| That's because he IS a spoiled kid. That's the character. He is a true sith, apart from his race. All sith gain their power from negative emotion. Vader's was fear. Kylo's is not getting what he wants. Rage. #303 -
acekingpanda (12/24/2015) [-] I actually disagree. Somewhat. You have a valid opinion and I'm not calling it unjustified. However, if we look at everything we, as fans, know about siths, we can see how there have been many in the past that have been irrational and even bratty like Kylo Ren. He is not the first and I speculate he won't be the last. Siths have always gained power from their strength of emotion. It's in the sith code for Christ's sake. The type of emotions driving Kylo are rage and whatever you call being a spoiled little shit. This makes for very erratic behavior and equally erratic power. His saber beam even speaks to it in some fashion. Unlike Vader, Kylo is a true sith. I have high hopes for how this is going to turn out. That's just my long winded opinion though. TLDR: You're justified. I disagree. Kylo is true sith. They are doing the lore a favor here. Ok. Valid. But if you believe that the theory that Snoke could be Darth Plagueis, then we have a sith apprentice learning directly from a sith lord. That's just speculation though. #79 -
stormblink (12/23/2015) [-] It's quite humorous. While the villain is not intimidating and is more a kid trying to fill in shoes, it's quite odd seeing Benedict Cumforbitch as an angsty teenager to the extreme.I honestly want to see Snooke kill the fucker in the end. Honestly, The best parts are the Han Solo moments. Harrison Ford is literally the reason your going in, The other movies will be shit without him. He is clearly the key that made Star Wars good. Kylo Ren was played by Adam Driver, not Bendthatdick Cumforbitch. His contract was only for one more film. interviews confirm he won't be in the the next two. He basically said he doesn't want to steal the spotlight from the new actors . >>#82, theydontlikeu don't read the above comment (#90) or pretty much anything else trupotatoman posts unless you want the movie spoiled. sorry, mate, but i don't usually post spoilers (but i did use the spoiler thing), just saying why harry baby won't be in the next few. He put the spoiler in a spoiler... not like he's doing anything wrong and I'm just pointing it out, like you are. not like I'm doing anything wrong either. I'm hoping Rey is as powerful as she is because Luke is doing some Jedi force shit. I mean, we do have a precedent for people not having to be by the object they're using the force on for it to work (Vader choking the captain while looking through the holocom comes to mind) And she does say that she doesn't know what she did when she made the guard go away with the force So, hopefully next movie makes it clear how she's so ridiculously OP without any training at all. Yeah. I can get on board with her being powerful because the Force visions she's having is kinda teaching her something without acting through it before, like some sort of memory transfer crap. It would actually make some sense. And I mean, the fight against Kylo was good. But even after he was injured, he somehow didn't think about just Force freezing Rey like she did that first time. And considering that he can stop lazer bolts in mid-air, well. There's some disrepancies with power levels throughout the films. Not that this isn't expected. The original films had very poor action, and sparse use of the force, for other reasons. And by poor action, I mean that the swordfighting was lame. Then again, it's a product of a previous generations mindset, and things change. Ren might not have quite thought about using the force there because his own alignment is pretty twisted right now- he can't be fully dark or light without further teachings (due to his desire for the dark side but natural tendency for the light), so the force might not have been calling him. Or Abrams just decided that saber battles look cooler than Ren using the force. Movies can never really be completely consistent, because of running time limitations. In a book format it probably would've been better explained. However, I think there's something about the Force, and how you only really use o your full potential if you follow your alignment to it. Anakin was never really amazing, but as Vader, after more training he became very powerful. Yoda was very powerful, and Luke had a good grasp over it when facing Vader, but had not attained control over his emotions, which are key to mastering the light side. I might be talking out of my ass, but for Kylo to become properly powerful, he's either gotta accept the light or be driven so far into the dark that there's no way out, which Vader proved to be very difficult, as he turned at the last before he died. Rey, though. Goddamn. I want more development of these characters.

maninaboat (12/22/2015) [-] I have honestly never thought of Bethesda games as RPGs. I've thought of them as hybrids, always. RPGs and FPSs are about as divorced from one another as two game types could be. It's about as weird a concept as a Puzzle-based Racing Game. (Still possible, but unlikely to be ULTRA GREAT FUN for lovers of both sorts of games.) Another problem is the limitations of writing for videogames. In order to have every solution to every problem be viable means that the writers must first know every single possible solution a player may find, then write logical profression and dialogue for all of those outcomes. And THEN the programmer must program the game so that all of those solutions create a victory condition without bugging up too hard to work properly or just giving the quest as an automatic victory or something similarly stupid. THEN the voice actors have to be called in and record every single line of dialogue for each of these possible solutions. And then all of this needs to be combined with art and character design. And if these solutions have impact on the main quest line? Oh shit. Your workload just got geometrically larger. Each of these missions is starting to add up to the hundreds of man hours, and accounting for quests affecting other quests makes it even more nuts. (And all this shit takes up a LOT of memory) But the demand is for bigger worlds, all of them endlessly rich and full of quests to do, or else the game is apparently shit. And also change is bad but innovation is needed and making it more accessible to more players is bad and pandering to casuals and how dare they try tk recuperate the massive costs of development by appealing to a wider market?! THE SCOUNDRELS! THE HEARTLESS MONEYGUZZLING MACHINES! When you look at what we demand from AAA titles and see what the actual requirements for those are, it becomes a very different playing field. Why does it usually come down to choices at the end? Because otherwise the writers go crazy and shit takes forever to write. Here's just a brief challenge to explain why this shit is hard. Make a folder called "Combo Lock." Inside, make three folders numbered 1, 2, and 3. In each of those folders, make three more folders numbered 1, 2, 3. Continue this so that you can effectively enter any 5 digit combination. No seriously. Do it. It's a fun project for keeping things hidden from computer-unlearned morons. Did you do it? Welcome back. That was pretty tedious, yeah? Ok, now imagine this but with 0 through 5. And the code should be 20 digits. I get carpel tunnel just thinking about it. That's basically how these branching quests work, but also involving a shit-ton of player prediction and writing. TL;DR: Making sandbox games is unholy magnitudes of scale more difficult than making linear ones.
