I'm Ready!

Hyped as **** . Just another week, another sexy music release.

Also, gonna have to add this Fiendish **** to my ever growing list of instrumental hip-hop bandcamp bookmarks. Seriously, I bought like 2 beat based albums last night, it was ridiculous but I couldn't help myself. This sounds niiiiiiiiisssshhhhhheee too.

radiojuicy.com/album/1991-extraterrestrial this is one of the things I got last night. That label is boss. ******* quality hip-hap.

I have a 14 day trial I can use I suppose but I'll need to hook my 360 back up since the Xbox no fun isn't backwards compatible. Also, I need to buy a little table where I can place it (I think I said that before). I'll probably do that on monday since I'll have the day off work (I think).

Look at all this effort you're making me use. gosh.

I TINK I remember now

On an unrelated note; should I get this? radiojuicy.com/album/nudus-cactus

I really don't listen to much foreign rap (outside of features on instrumental albums) but something about this is so compelling and ill... Even though I can't understand it, I kind of think it's ******* sick. I know we discussed different languages the other night, but I feel it's different for rap since lyrics are more important. But I dunno, maybe it really doesn't matter. I like how this sounds still. Also, the production is sweet as well. I think that's what sells it for me.
User avatar #6685 to #6684 - themagicwizard (6 hours ago) [-]
Yes, that sounds sick. Also, do you know Soul Square? They're a French hip hop group fronted by different English speaking rappers from the US and Canada, they're right up your alley.

Also, I love all the french comments heh

Thanks mane, maybe one day I can do the soundtrack to the infinitely worse remake.

It feels so good to be done with almost everything. Tomorrow I'm going to work on a ridiculous plunderphonics sampling thing along the lines of VC for this electronic music event that might be happening when the semester ends. I feel like it won't end up happening, but it'll be fun to make anyway. It'll probably end up on our soundcloud soon.
User avatar #6654 to #6653 - ultrablue (8 hours ago) [-]
That sounds like a good end of semester jam fest. If the piece doesn't make it there, at least you can play it on chili like always.

i dunno, I don't think I like anything particularly shameful. The plebbiest movie I ever pirated was Guardians of the Galaxy because I just wanted to see how it was. I should delete that, it drags down my film cred.

Some movies I do like are Donnie Darko, Dr. Strangelove (etc...), Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Alice in Wonderland, Zoolander, Phone Booth, American Psycho, Zodiac, In Bruges and Lawrence of Arabia.
User avatar #6636 to #6635 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
American Psycho is the best.

Donnie Darko is the best too.

Some of those others I've seen are pretty good. Haven't seen some. Dr. Strangelove is on my list of movies to watch soon.

Alice in Wonderland is the only one that I've seen that I thought was meh.

So there it is. I will **** on that movie for all eternity every time you bring up Interstellar. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

User avatar #6652 to #6651 - ultrablue (9 hours ago) [-]
That's pretty neat yo. I do dig. Maybe it was because I was thinking about it last night and we were talking about it, but it sounds like it would fit in well on the Ink soundtrack. It has that kinda mood.
User avatar #6616 to #6615 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
Heirs sounds awesome, I just listened to a low quality rip of the full album, so good.

You really have an instrumental hip hop problem, you should get help.
User avatar #6617 to #6616 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
I saw on facebook that they were streaming it on some website the other day so that might be what the rip is from. I didn't check it, but the songs that they already released that I've heard are awesome.

I do. But no. I'm definitely not rectifying the situation. You can't make me.

True. I think I'll just need to space it out with other stuff for the next week. Heirs will help, along with the new Scallops Hotel record that are both coming out on the same day.
User avatar #6622 to #6621 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
Do you listen to Massive Attack? i don't remember. Anyway, their soundtrack to Bullet Boy is great too. That could be another thing to dilute the beats.
User avatar #6624 to #6622 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
I listen to them, yeah. Though, the only album I have is Mezzanine.

This sounds very different from that though (as do most of their albums). Pretty sweet though. I love atypical movie soundtracks, as you know. Never even heard of the movie though haha
User avatar #6625 to #6624 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
I've never seen it, I assume it's about gang violence in London. Might be worth a look soon. The soundtrack reminds me a little bit of some parts of 100th Window, their album after Mezzanine, but it's really its own thing style-wise.
User avatar #6626 to #6625 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
Ink Full Soundtrack

Still love this **** . One of my favorite movies and movie soundtracks as well.
User avatar #6627 to #6626 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
That's some good niceness, mane. There are so many soundtracks I've forgotten about that I really love. i went through that whole soundtracks phase where cuts from movie scores were the only things I listened to. This reminded me of that, so I'm going to download them and check them out again. Starting with The Fountain.
Clint Mansell - Death is the Road to Awe
User avatar #6628 to #6627 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
Clint Mansell is the man. Never saw the Fountain (though I'd like to), but everything else that I've seen that he's scored is great (both soundtrack and movie wise; Moon, Pi, Requiem, Black Swan.
User avatar #6629 to #6628 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
I didn't really like Black Swan that much, I don't remember the soundtrack for it either. Those other 3 are all among my favorite movies/soundtracks, though.
User avatar #6630 to #6629 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
I can't remember the score either really, but I do like the movie a lot, though I only saw it once. Anything with doppelgangers creeps me out.
User avatar #6631 to #6630 - themagicwizard (05/02/2015) [-]
It was definitely the second worst movie I've ever seen, right behind Interstellar.
User avatar #6632 to #6631 - ultrablue (05/02/2015) [-]
I was waiting for an Interstellar comment

I think maybe it has a lot to do with Hispanic singers voices. At least the males. Like this song www.youtube.com/watch?v=PecHjYQPt5o would be so much better with different vocals.
User avatar #6585 to #6583 - themagicwizard (04/29/2015) [-]
lol, those are ****** . I dunno, I think it's just how the language sounds for me. Like how everything ends in an o or an a. It just gets old really fast.
User avatar #6588 to #6585 - ultrablue (04/29/2015) [-]
Maybe that's it. I feel like it has something to do with hearing it so much in my life, whether from TV, people in real life (a lot of hispanic people leave around here), classes, etc. I dunno. It just feels like... weird.. Or maybe because I don't really like latin music and what not and I just can't help but associate it with that even if it's in a genre of music I like.
User avatar #6590 to #6588 - themagicwizard (04/29/2015) [-]
Yeah, I'll admit I have a bit of the same feelings. Suburban white boyz prejudice 4eva. Living in the northeast it's like hispanic central. The lack of variation is definitely a huge part of it for me, though. It's like everything automatically rhymes, you don't even have to try or get creative. English has a great thing going on in that way.

I feel the same way. I dunno what it is. It's just not an enjoyable language for music for me. French is great, Italian and Portuguese are ok. Not sure about Romanian, I don't think I've heard it sung. Spanish is the failure of romance languages for music.

Admittedly I'm exaggerating for the yucks. While at first I felt like a jerk cause I didn't even try to speak any spanish to them, I have been recently trying to implement some simple stuff here and there, and hopefully they don't respond with a whole speech on politics or something.

Yeah, the world's largest shark migration passes right by it on the east coast.
User avatar #6553 to #6552 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
I was there 2 years ago and like every day we went to the beach, there would be huge schools of fish flopping around so it looked like the water was boiling just a few yards off shore, so everyone was really suspicious of what was in there with them. I went in on a calm day and saw a little shark that was like 2 feet long just sitting there. I also swam in the fish schools when they weren't freaking out and it was pretty sweet.
User avatar #6554 to #6553 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
That sounds like fish rape. Did any go up your bathing suit?
User avatar #6555 to #6554 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
No, they were very respectful fish.
User avatar #6556 to #6555 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
I'm glad. Both sharks and rapey fish would completely ruin my vision of Florida beaches.

I just wanna go to some westcoast (one word so that ***** doesn't get another notification) beaches where the water is all clear and **** . Murky ass eastcoast water is alright, but it's just not that pretty.
User avatar #6557 to #6556 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
Murky ass water is all I have ever known. Except for Hawaii, I think. I can't really remember, though. The murk has tainted my soul and memories.
User avatar #6558 to #6557 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
Same here, sans even Hawaii. Though, there's talk that we MAY possible go there this summer. Or maybe like the Caribbean or somethin. I dunno. But yeah, i'm ready to see more than just the murk. The Murk sounds like a good song title lol.
User avatar #6559 to #6558 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
Hawaii is awesome. I stayed in one of the spots where there were very few people, so it was even better. That was a while ago so it might have changed, but I'd bet it's still awesome.

You should go to Cuba.
User avatar #6560 to #6559 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
I really wanna go to Hawaii. Going with family would be cool, but I'd love to go with friends and just explore a bunch cause there's a lot of neat **** besides just the beaches. That sounds so ******* appealing right now, **** . I want.

Cuba... eh maybe. It sounds alright from my friend's talks about it, but I feel like other places are more appealing to me currently. I mean, I guess certain aspects of it are cool, but it's not on top of my lists of places to go to.
User avatar #6561 to #6560 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
Cuba just for the novelty of going to Cuba.

I was little when I went so I just did little kid family stuff. We hiked to some cool spots with rock carvings and got one of the locals to give us an illegal tour of a sacred lava tube, though. That was pretty sweet. There was like a royal skeleton in there with offerings and stuff. I think that may have had an impact on who I am today. There were also neat tide pools with all kinds of tide pool dwelling animals.
User avatar #6521 to #6500 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
Haha I think you showed me that before (the clarinet dude). He shreds.

But yes. Why do you think this is like one of the best songs ever? Bonobo - 'Black Sands'

Though, I think that's a soprano sax he's playing, not a clarinet. But **** it, it's close enough.
User avatar #6522 to #6521 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
>completely different instrument
>close enough

You really are a piece of work **** .

Definitely one of my favorite Bonobo songs, though. The first wind instrument sounds like it could be a clarinet, if that's what you're talking about.
User avatar #6523 to #6522 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
Don't question my knowledge of instruments, ***** . I was in middle school band. I know everything.

It's close enough because they do sound similar, and they look kinda similar too (the sax is gold colored doe). The only reason I know the hornist (lol) plays it is because there are live videos of him with it. I think... I just look up a vid of black sands live and he is playing clarinet, but I swear to god I've seen him playing a soprano sax too.

Anyway, bottom line is shut up, you nincompoop.
User avatar #6524 to #6523 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]

Well it sounds like you're really on the ball over there.

Listening to some Bonobo from way back in 2010. So ready to get these finals over with. I've just gone into full on slack mode and I've been listening to music and watching cartoons all day. I had a good ol' These New Puritans marathon earlier listening to all of their studio albums back to back. They're such a great progression of style.
User avatar #6515 to #6514 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
Model student over here. I'm trying to forget that feeling of end of semester blues. Sounds like you got an alright remedy though. I still haven't heard a full TNP album other than Field of Reeds, though I will eventually check out another. Probably the one before Field of Reeds. Is that called Pyramids or something?
User avatar #6516 to #6515 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
Their first one is Beat Pyramid, the middle one is Hidden.
User avatar #6517 to #6516 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]

Well, one of those I guess. Hidden is like really loud and heavy right? I've checked out the itunes previews a few times.
User avatar #6518 to #6517 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
Yeah, some of the tracks have a really heavy vibe, but it's also kind of a middle ground between Beat Pyramid and Field of Reeds. You'll definitely hear it if you listen to Beat Pyramid too. Lots of great bassoon stuff or whatever instrument that is that they're so fond of.
User avatar #6519 to #6518 - ultrablue (04/28/2015) [-]
AND CLARINETS TOO??? You have no idea how much I love clarinets in contemporary music. There need to be more. In fact, every band/artist should have at least 5 songs with clarinet in them.
User avatar #6520 to #6519 - themagicwizard (04/28/2015) [-]
These New Puritans - Canticle [Hidden] There might be, I bet there are. Dont take my word for it though, I'm not a professional clarinet identifier.

Ivo Papazov - Dance of the Falcon, Kaba zurna Here's a Bulgarian dude ripping it apart on the clarinet.

I agree, by the way.

Same, If I get an Assbox One eventually, I might get it for that too if it's really cheap. Still squeezing all the fun out of Reach at the moment. RIP in peace, Bungie Halo games.
User avatar #6474 to #6473 - ultrablue (04/24/2015) [-]
lol I played a bit of the Halo 5 beta that came out awhile back at my friends house. It was.... kind of odd honestly. I feel like they're getting more Call of Duty (at least in the multiplayer) with every release.
User avatar #6475 to #6474 - themagicwizard (04/24/2015) [-]
Halo 4's multiplayer was definitely still enjoyable, especially the big team gametypes. Those maps are great, but it definitely felt different. Even though Reach added armor abilities, it still really felt like traditional Halo multiplayer. I played Halo 3 online last week and it was still great. There were only a couple hundred people total still playing it when I was online.
User avatar #6476 to #6475 - ultrablue (04/24/2015) [-]
I like Halo 4 multiplayer, and some of the maps are pretty good, but some were really ******* annoying, and I hate the voting aspect because everyone always votes for the same few **** maps.

I like the power ups in Reach; jetpacking 24/7. Reach is definitely great, no qualms with that game. I should play the campaign again soon, I only played through it twice. Same with Halo 4 actually.

The first 3 games are classic though and I've played those campaigns a million times.
User avatar #6477 to #6476 - themagicwizard (04/24/2015) [-]
Yeah, I only played the Halo 4 campaign once. It was fun but the story felt pretty overblown. Reach's campaign is another really strong one, Bungie definitely did a good job with it. It had a different feel though, very tragic. Those poor fictional characters

Some of the map choices for Halo 4's playlists were just wrong. There was that one map for SWAT that was like 6x too big. Everyone votes for the same maps in Reach too. I don't know why they ever gave any say to the players in picking maps, PEOPLE JUST **** EVERYTHING UP!!!!!

You can do online co-op with Halo 3's campaign I think. Y-you interested?
User avatar #6478 to #6477 - ultrablue (04/24/2015) [-]
Halo 4's story is definitely not that memorable. It's also very muddled and yes, overblown I agree. They just tried to add all this new odd stuff that was all complicated and I was just like "k."

I'm down for that. I just need to renew my gold first lol. Actually I do have a 14 day trial I could use I suppose. I also need to get a little table for my 360 since the stand I have my tv and consoles on is now too full for another console without obstructing the screen. The firstest of world problems.
User avatar #6479 to #6478 - themagicwizard (04/24/2015) [-]
I'm on my second free month of gold. I'm such a leech. I have 2 accounts and I haven't used either of them in so long that Microsoft felt compelled to offer each of them a free month to try out gold. This one runs out the 18th of next month. I might just renew it after that though, I dunno.

I wish I was as first world as you. I'm running low on space for game cases, but that's about it. I don't see that problem growing significantly worse in the near future anyway.
User avatar #6480 to #6479 - ultrablue (04/24/2015) [-]
Same here. Like I said, too many games I haven't even played yet. Xbox One games, Wii U games, steam games, hell, I still have one of two 360 games I haven't played/beaten yet.

You should get an Assplox Pun at some point though, cause I wanna get GTAV soon and we can play it online then. God I really wanna play that game. I loved GTAIV and I never got 5 because I knew my hard drive didn't have the memory to play it, so now that I have the Cox Sun I can finally get that **** . MMMMMMMM.
User avatar #6481 to #6480 - themagicwizard (04/24/2015) [-]
Maybe, I don't really feel like dropping a couple hundred on a ********* One right now, but I might feel differently if I can get some dolo rolling in soon.

I made it. I'm checking out bits from the other soundtrack nominees. They all seem fairly run of the mill. I'd definitely put Interstellar and The Grand Budapest Hotel ahead of the rest. The imitation Game soundtrack was also by the same guy who did GBH, but it's not nearly as unique.

I was reading about the original script for Interstellar that was presented to Steven Spielberg. It didn't have any dumb betrayal by Matt Damon, his character didn't even exist. Instead, Marco Malady and the others went down under the ice of the ice planet and found Chinese robots that they had to fight. There was also some serious biological activity going on on that planet. The ice shell was actually huge colonies of little crystal creatures gathering sunlight for energy or something like that. Seems pretty rad.

These songs ain't too bad. Have you ever listened to Kasabian? You might like them. I dunno. Not sure if they even sound that similar, I just thought of them for some reason.
User avatar #6464 to #6463 - ultrablue (04/04/2015) [-]
Well some of that sounds cool. The crystal creatures. The robots sounds kind of dumb though. I mean lol, maybe you could say Matt Damon being an asshole is unnecessary and silly, but come on, he gets the **** blasted out of him. That part's great!

Kasabian sounds pretty cool from what I'm previewing now. Not really like Oceana (now Polyenso actually). More straight up rocky and a bit more catchy/poppy. Almost a little Gorillaz-ish maybe? Maybe that's just the Britishness I'm hearing lol.

I've seen a few people compare Oceana/Polyenso to Radiohead actually. Dunno how accurate that is since I still haven't listened to much Radiohead... yet at least. But they used to be a hardcore screamy band, then they got a little more tame, and then they made the EP that those songs are on, solidifying their new sound. It's quite a departure, but a good one. I've been meaning to check out their full length as Polyenso for awhile now, so I may do that later this week and share my opinion on it.
User avatar #6465 to #6464 - themagicwizard (04/04/2015) [-]
Yeah, the Chinese robots do sound silly. I did like the crystal creatures though. It reminded me of one of those 90s speculative alien things. One of them actually had a part about crystalline organisms. It was cool. Anyway, goodnight.

I guess I'm not quite ready to break the tissues out yet. Well... I am, I just haven't gotten the opportunity to yet heh.
User avatar #6454 to #6452 - themagicwizard (04/04/2015) [-]
I've only listened to it once so far, but I was feeling it. Surfman's got a lot of feelings. This seemed like his most intimate one, though.
User avatar #6455 to #6454 - ultrablue (04/04/2015) [-]
It's been awhile since I've gotten something new that was quality sad but also with lyrics. I was trying to think after listening to it what I think might be the saddest album with singing/lyrics I've ever heard was. In the Aeroplane Over the Sea might be my answer. Maybe it's a cliche or dumb anser or whatever, but something about that album... a lot of it touches me for some reason.
User avatar #6456 to #6455 - themagicwizard (04/04/2015) [-]
I've never listened to it, but I'll be sure to on one of these rainy, depressing early spring days.
User avatar #6457 to #6456 - ultrablue (04/04/2015) [-]
Really, you haven't? DANG YO. Well, behind all it's infamous internet memedon, it's actually a very good album. If you like fuzzy distortion folk music that is.
User avatar #6458 to #6457 - themagicwizard (04/04/2015) [-]
I listened to a bit of one song from it in my friend's car like 2 years ago or something. It seemed nice.

I wish I had some quality sad music to share, but I don't think I do. So I'll just criticize Interstellar some more. It seemed so uneventful when they got back from the black hole planet and the black guy was old. What was his deal anyway? Why did he just sit there for over 20 years? Mayhew Paraguay even asked him but I don't remember him giving any sort of answer that made sense.

Tim Hecker - Studio Suicide, 1980 [HD AUDIO] There was a ton of fog rolling through today, so I thought it would be perfect for some Tim Hecker. I put that on and took pictures at the lake. **** was beyond cash.

I'm jelly. I haven't had a good "music as a perfect backdrop for environment" moment in awhile.

That's a great picture too, looks like it could be an album cover even.
#6422 to #6421 - themagicwizard (04/04/2015) [-]
I suggested to my friends that we use it as the cover for the black metal album we keep joking about making.

I got a bunch of good ones, definitely a great opportunity for some moody shots.

Today was 50-something. The lake freezes usually almost a foot thick during the winter, so it takes its sweet time melting. It still gets below freezing at night some nights so it'll probably still be a couple weeks before it's all gone.

I like the cover. It looks like it would be a poster for some sci-fi disaster movie set on Mars.

It's another one of those like series of albums concepts. Each one is a different year into this guys journey into a post-apocalyptic world. I just decided to start with that one since it's the first.

I know about Biosphere. And isn't this that same album where you like walked across a frozen lake or something? Or is that a different Biosphere album? Either way, this is quality atmospheric **** . The cover helps with that icy tundra feel; this would've been great to drive to tonight.

Yeah, it's that one. Apparently there's a sequel to it. I'm going to check that out soon.

How about you?
User avatar #6326 to #6325 - ultrablue (02/22/2015) [-]
Heh, I was just listening to folk and drinking a beer. Now I'm listening to this new woob album/ep/thing

Today was ******* long. I had to do deliveries in really **** conditions and almost crashed my car like 3 times. The worst part is that a lot of people called in and just said they couldn't come in to drive. Which I should've done, but the good thing is if this happens again I have the excuse that I already put my life on the line once so I shouldn't have to again.

Anyway yes. Relaxing music is a must right now for me, so I'm just chillin.
User avatar #6327 to #6326 - themagicwizard (02/22/2015) [-]
You should be proud to put your life on the line for the 'za. One of the noblest causes in this world.

User avatar #6328 to #6327 - ultrablue (02/22/2015) [-]
I actually only just found out about it the other day.. it was only released like 5 days ago and I just got it tonight. It's some weird concept he had where he was gonna release a song or two every holiday season, then delete it, then release a couple more songs with the ones he already released, then delete, and then eventually down the road in a few years, it'd be a full album. But I guess he missed the deadline this past holiday season so he just released the whole thing, and now he's calling it "a sequel to that project. even though that project still doesn't exist yet.

ANYWAY, **** it. Point is, this little release is only gonna be around for 40 days for download on his bandcamp, so I decided to get it now while I can.
User avatar #6329 to #6328 - themagicwizard (02/22/2015) [-]
A sequel to an unreleased album? That's pretty ******* advanced, man. It makes me want to release an album dedicated to someone who hasn't been born yet, or commemorating a future event.

It's some premium grade A unrefined disappointment, I assure you
User avatar #6270 to #6269 - ultrablue (01/29/2015) [-]
So, I got home from work and then went to Denny's with some friends after, and on the way to Denny's I remembered it was chili night so I listened to the show on my phone through the car speakers. It was like I was listening to the actual radio!!!

Too bad on the way there all it was was you guys discussing Bjork.
User avatar #6271 to #6270 - themagicwizard (01/29/2015) [-]
Lol, it's a risk you have to take. Her new album is really good though. You should check it out and join in the fun!
User avatar #6272 to #6271 - ultrablue (01/29/2015) [-]
Maybe. I never really listened to much Bjork. Too bad I didn't tune in to when you were actual playing Bstork (I assume).
User avatar #6273 to #6272 - themagicwizard (01/29/2015) [-]
Well I guess you know all about it now. Were you listening during our rant about the Haxan Cloak show? That has to be at the very least the 3rd time we've complained about that concert on air.

You did get to hear all the ****** metal though!
User avatar #6274 to #6273 - ultrablue (01/29/2015) [-]
I feel like I heard it mentioned briefly but I didn't really get the context at the time

LOVED THE ****** METAL THOUGH. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. At least I got to maousss (side project of Boreal Network fyi). All the suffering was worth it in the end.
User avatar #6275 to #6274 - themagicwizard (01/29/2015) [-]
Yeah, I dug it. It definitely sounded Boreal Networky. Another entry in my ever growing out of control bandcamp list.

Cool, maybe this will be added to the wizards locations to visit for induction. There are 3 currently .
User avatar #6257 to #6256 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
Do those 3 have some interesting backstories?
User avatar #6258 to #6257 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
Not... really. Well.. I dunno. I can't spoil the surprise really if you ever one day decide to become a wizard.

I guess one does though, and I can talk about it cause it's the only one I've never been to. There's a Whitecastle burgers in New Jersey, which is one of the locations, and it started because on Thanksgiving a few years back, two of my friends went there I think the day after T-giving and drove all night to get there and then back, just to try Whitecastle. If I recall correctly, they thought it too was pretty mediocre.
User avatar #6259 to #6258 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
lolol, sounds pretty similar. The locations should all be the scenes of some disappointing event.

"if you ever one day decide to become a wizard"
I have already decided.
User avatar #6260 to #6259 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
The three kind of form a triangle.. well.. kind of lol. We once tried to go to the point that would be the center of the triangle.. it ended up being the sight of a burned out church and the cemetery next to it had a lot of black people buried there. That was interesting.

Cool, next time my friend is in town we'll come pick you up. Soon the cult will be spread all across the whole east coast. ooooooooooooh boooyy!!!!
User avatar #6261 to #6260 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
"burned out church and the cemetery next to it had a lot of black people buried there"
That's some occult **** right there.

I really need to plot out my pentagrams on a map and see what happens.
User avatar #6262 to #6261 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
Please do and then let me know where it leads. I'll come find the place too. I always need new places to explore.. I feel like I've run out of stuff in my area sadly.
User avatar #6263 to #6262 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
It's a massive and narrow triangle that crosses about 2/3 of the US. One side is about 6 miles, the other two are about 3430 miles each
User avatar #6264 to #6263 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
LOL thanks Colorado! I'm guessing the center is like Illinois or something?
#6265 to #6264 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
Alright, I forgot the Satan summoning ceremony pentagram. With that factored in, it's a gigantic rectangle-ish shape across the US. The approximate center of it, after some lazy calculation, looks to be near this group of buildings in southern Dixon, IL.

Looks like we're going to Whatever Way.

I'm pretty sure I showed you Live from Dino's before, it's from way back in 2013.

I dunno how permanent all the visual stuff is, I just decided to finish making that page today. I want it to be something that really speaks to the inner occult worshiper/UFO freak/political activist/paranormal investigator/frontier settler/bus driver in everyone.

I feel like Happy Valentine's day just wraps everything together in love; the most important message of all.
User avatar #6245 to #6244 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
It really is. I think that's the message behind about 85% of our music.
User avatar #6246 to #6245 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
Also, maybe you told me this before when you showed me this but. Dino.. as in the dinosaur?
User avatar #6247 to #6246 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
Dino like the Italian chef/owner of Dino's Pizza & Pasta.
User avatar #6248 to #6247 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
Oh yeah.. Says it right there.. lol. Well it's cut off so cut me some slack. And a slice of pizza as well.
User avatar #6249 to #6248 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
I dunno if I told you about Dino's before. It's a restaurant I made up when I was in NYC one day with a friend, and we kept asking people where Dino's was. It turned out it actually existed and we went there a couple weeks later and had some slightly sub-par pizza.
User avatar #6250 to #6249 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
LOL "Hey, uh can you tell me where Dino's is?"

"Uh, yeah ******* right there you IDIOT."
User avatar #6251 to #6250 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
Nobody seemed to know, though. We had to look it up on our own. I guess Dino's is a closely guarded secret. Only the true Dino's seeker will be able to find it and taste its somewhat disappointing pizza.
User avatar #6252 to #6251 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
I like that the answer to the myth of Dino's is that it's just kinda meh. It's like if you found out that the chupacabra was just a little dog with fleas and rabies
User avatar #6253 to #6252 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
Dino's also came with a heavy price. We were there to see Godspeed You! Black Emperor when they were opening for Nine Inch Nails (I have no idea why they were). Getting to Dino's and back took way longer than we expected and we ended up missing GY!BE entirely.

It was really disappointing at the time, but now I think it's a great part of the legend of Dino's.
User avatar #6254 to #6253 - ultrablue (01/22/2015) [-]
I remember you talking about that concert, and I think about missing Godspeed, sans anything about Dino's.

Maybe Dino's is shrouded in bad luck.. Bad luck and not great pizza. I shouldn't want to go there but I kinda do.
User avatar #6255 to #6254 - themagicwizard (01/22/2015) [-]
It's like a really disappointing pilgrimage, and you know it will be beforehand. I still recommend it.
