I used to pick strawberries when I was 12. We were paid 50 cents per basket. This way is much better than what we did.

We had these modified machines that we would set to go straight on a row of plants, turn a light switch on, which would make the machine go as fast as that tractor is going, and we would be in a sitting position with our feet resting on a bar beside the crate sitting in front of us, picking strawberries from the ground between our knees. We could only do it for like six hours at a time because it hurt our backs so much. Laying on our bellies would have been way better than that shit.

me and my cousins had to pick strawberries every summer. and we would get a glass of strawberry milkshake as a payment for it...and we didnt have any devices like this.

being from a farm town in colorado, yes, schools would do this for a field trip. the local 4h n ffa would do it. i worked on the farms n would simply drop my truck into granny low gear n let it chug along while they picked berries n just relax
