Completely different principle actually. The rifle feeds directly from the en bloc clip inside of the internal magazine while a stripper clip feeds into the magazine then the gun feeds directly from the internal magazine.

I use M2 ball ammunition, not 30-06. Commercial 30-06 will damage the oprod. Also the M1 Garand takes en bloc clips, not stripper clips.
