As long as that combination doesn't involve wind power murdering the local bird population and covering fields in concrete to make stupid looking fans, I'm fine with it.

Go with nuclear energy while developing more efficient renewable sources. Just because nuclear won't last us an infinite amount of time doesn't mean that we shouldn't exploit its goods.

Well, then if we're gonna be using those criteria, my money's on geothermal. It's basically a less productive coal power plant without the coal. It's sustainable, economically viable and provides you with both power and hot water. And, unlike hydro, it can be built anywhere.

In theory, at least. In practice, people are still trying to figure out an effective way of drilling deep enough to get to the hot enough rocks in regions that aren't volcanicly active. Still, that's just drilling a fucking hole. I'm sure they're gonna come up with a solution soon enough.
