but he wasnt mildly successful. he was essentially a non-entity. Ron Paul, the self purported libertarian (who is really just a moderate conservative) is the only successful.

The only reason Gary Johnson didn't get noticed is that he did not totally agree with republican views and would not run under that title. he ran under libertarian because they most closely resembled what he stood for, but alas they do get the financial backing that dems and republicans get....I saw him on youtube though, lol

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that Ron Paul ran as a independent? Either way, I think the fact that people even know your name make you mildly successful in politics. After all, politics is really just a big popularity contest. He (Gary Johnson) is a much more successful politician than I am.
