There was a 58% failure rate on launch. Not all systems RRoD'd but enough did to make it bad. My friend takes GREAT care of his systems, and his broke in a MONTH.

The N64 is indestructible because there weren't that many parts that could break or degrade over time...there are just some components in a 360 that are prone to breaking. You can't blow on a CD drive to make it work better.

Yeah, I bought my Xbox 360 (regular version) three years ago, it RRoD'd once 'bout half a year after the purchase , but that somehow fixed itself after like a day, and it has worked like wonder since then. Nothing to complain.

Most of them are true in a way.
Nintendo 64 could last longer even with damages or accidents since the replacement parts were cheap and sold nearly in any video game shops. It also got many memorable games, for adults and children such as mario party series, donkey kong, conker's bad fur day for adults and nearly none of theses crappy FPS games where 10 years old could scream non sense at you while you play.

In all honesty i don't think thats the kind of people a mario or zelda game would attract. when i tell people who play COD I still play zelda, pokemon, and mario they flip shit about me being a "faggot" and to "grow up".

I guess most of those faggots are 12 year olds who are obsessed with CoD and XBL.

Yeah, Xbox have the capability to play online, have a mute button if you are fucking tired of kiddos whining (n64 doesn't have it since you play with people just beside you and can't really slap the shit out of them) and xbox have still few memorable games (but n64 still have more, but you may not know them all) and finally, the Xbox can't survive big accidents or shocks (falling from 1 meter can be fatal) and can't be moved while in play or you can scrap your CD (n64 doesn't have cds and can be moved freely while in play)

So, in the end, Xbox may have more power, better graphics and online mode, it's still more fragile than a n64 and have less memorable games of his own that never sold out on any other consoles.

I bought an Xbox 360 Elite (the black Xbox with 180G) when It first came out and I kept great care of it the entire time I owned it until the new Xbox 360 came out (picture) which I upgraded to. I sold my old Xbox to a friend who uses it now and is still in great performance. So I'd like to see how Xbox's only last 1 year, what are people doing with them then?

I was more a sega console boy at that time, but I have to admit. Although the games that I played were still fun when I played them again, the memory of them being as fun were part of nostalgic glasses with rose tints.

I don't see the argument about consoles, rather I think it should be about the games. I mean, the xbox 360 just has more computer power and with a low side of hardware issues. So, if anything these days, I would recommend computers. More retro games are released only on the computer, there are a lot of emulators for older consoles and it's easy to upgrade it's hardware.
