Not taking a side here, just clarifying that he said "people who live off disability when they are physically capable of working", as in people who are getting disability when they shouldn't.

How do contractors match that description at all?
Call them war profiteers if you like, but they are pretty important.
Yeah, they try to get work as authors or some such shit or keep popping out kids even though they cant support them just for more government money. Most people on disability would be able to work a desk job. Unemployment is too abusible.

Here in San Diego they are the definition of government leeches. This is a good time to point out that anecdotal experiences are bad way to judge an entire group of people. Hint hint.
Really? Where did you see that? In you personal experience? Please refer above if that's the case. How do you know that most people on disability would be able to work desk jobs? Do you know how many people have what disability and to what severity? I can't argue on unemployment, but getting rid of it entirely would fuck over a lot of people that get dealt a bad hand, and would only increase homelessness.

Yes, that is personal experience. An amalgamation of several of my relatives stories. They unabashedly milk the system and say so. Im sorry if it has left me unsympathetic to welfare people, and I recognize that it really helps some who need it, but so many more abuse it.
While there are people who legitimately are disabled to the point of work being a complete impossibility, a mobility issue shouldnt prevent someone from sitting at a desk.
And Im in no way saying nix these programs completely. Id just like to see them rolled back significantly and have the standards for receiving a payout increased and stringently reviewed, for example, someone on welfare having to actively be submitting job resumes/applications each month.

People who take money from the government that they have not earned.
I don't think scaling them back would be necessary with those new standards since it would naturally kick a lot of people off of the entitlements. We're not disagreed there, just on our perceptions of the people who currently receive them. The only issue is that all of those new standards and regulations are liable to increase the cost even more due to the extra personnel that would need to be hired.
