I agree. I'm a vegetarian and even then I've gotten hate from extreme vegans because "that's not enough".

A salad tastes better by replacing it with a steak before serving.

All jokes aside, I very well know that. Most of us here know that. Personally, I don't mind anyones religion, nationality, carnivore or herbivore (omnivore myself), I just don't care. Each their own. You seem like a cool guy. Keep it up.
#323 - tozence (04/22/2013) [-]
Thanks man/woman, I think that you're pretty cool too. And I appreciate it greatly that you think of me so.

I know you and many other people on the internet may know the difference between the net and real life, however, you would be a little surprised as to how many times other people have just randomly started arguments regarding me being vegetarian. I can see from their point of view as well of course, because even till only several years ago, I ate meat.

Not trying to start a shitstorm going but I think why most pissed off vegans or vegetarians on the internet are pissed off because they keep getting challenged without their will to argue about an issue that is very important to them.(not to mention sarcasm is difficult to detect online, so some sentence or picture might seem more provoking than is actually intended, which in turn starts off shitstorms)

But yes, as you said, I like going by each to their own, I don't like to tutor any body, or tell anyone they are wrong, only if someone is willing to be influenced, will I show them what I think of a certain matter.

Aw, if I could I'd give you a little pat on the back. I've known a couple very friendly and non-judgemental vegans in my time. Much as I like a good slice of pep-and-mush, I'm okay with those who don't.
Unfortunately comedy mostly works with exaggeration, hence the stereotypes on the site of ignorant christians, asshole atheists, oppressive feminists, and raging vegans - even if these only represent a tiny portion of these actual groups.

In lieu of an appropriate pic, have some llamas.
#95 - tozence (04/22/2013) [-]
I very well understand that comedy exaggerates most of the time to make something more funny, but if there is one thing that I have noticed since becoming a vegetarian, is that many people don't really know that there is a difference between real life and the internet comedy.

I can't tell you just how many times, out of the blue, people have started debates or arguments with me because they know I'm a vegetarian. I don't openly try and shove anything down anyone's throat, only if they ask me personally will I show them my personal opinion in full.

I do wish some people would just accept that some people are different than them and get on living with life.

I think everyone hates vegans, christians, and the etc. because they state that they are such things when what I've noticed is the ones that are good about it stay silent. They don't go around telling the world about it because they just keep to themselves until the subject is brought up. I think that's about how it should be too. Just everyone keep to their damn selves and we all just live our personal life how we want :/
#99 - tozence (04/22/2013) [-]
I can agree with you fully on the part that people just stick to their own selves. But, then again, you can't really blame them. People are naturally curious, and anything that directly goes against something they have been told to believe their entire life, can be conflicting.

Although I do really wish people were more open minded, not that I try to shove my opinions down anyone's throat, just that they don't act so aggressive some of the times.

Yes the plot twists threw me quite a lot. But jesus-titty-fuck did the unbound Murmur catch me by surprise. At the start of the series I thought she was epic and needed more screen time, and then this happened, and i just wanted her locked away with thing 1 and thing 2 where she belongs
There's several manga's I've thought about looking into. The only issue I haven't been able to get help with is that I don't know if they get localized censoring and editing like Anime does. Once I'm done my vacation I'm definitely going to have to crack away at my list of anime to watch.
#182 - tozence (04/21/2013) [-]
I don't know about the unbound Murmur, in my opinion, she was still awesome even then. It seemed like she was lacking that great moment of her to shine. I think they slowly built up suspense for her to finally be let loose and reeve havoc. I know what you mean, I would like to watch so much anime and read so much manga I find interesting through finding about them on the web, but I can't, at least not yet. I will need to focus on exams, at least for another month, then, I will be free to spend 12 hours a a day minimum in the most lazy way I wish.

Hello?
#22 to #21 - tozence (03/13/2013) [-]
Aye, hello, you might be wondering why I have summoned you here, truth be told, I was contacted by a gang of pirate cats that sailed the seven seas in search for someone. They told me they had a fortune teller in their ship that knew that I, would find that person. That person that will be so awesome, they will single handidly repel the alien invasion and save Earth. And this is where you come in, this is your trial period. The cat pirates gave me a list of things that only the true chosen one would do throughout their lifetime, and if you pass, you are that person.

So what do you say? Friends?
