There are several points in awareness, probably. Human beings can live in delusion or illusion or be aware, but our awareness is limited. To be incapable of understanding everything that is is rather foreboding, but to know more would likely open up the doors to the grandeur of the universe.

I could care less about the intelligence of others. It doesn't concern me. It doesn't change or impact my life directly in anyway if I don't know them, so why should I care? Saying that technology helps every child who uses them just because you were able to understand earth science by playing a game doesn't mean that every child who plays that same game is going to understand earth science. It's a set back in most regards, because people then depend on it too much and when it's not there what is there to do?

Of course technology has benefits, but saying that technology alone is the sole cause of intelligence is stupid. Plain stupid.

But if anything, technology has made kids too dependent on it. Sure there are a many who still do well, but then there are the other children that rotten the rest. Simply because you played an MMO when you were younger doesn't mean you're a smelting expert. It's much more complex than just putting raw ore that you mined in a game with ease and coming out with a bar.

The only one I thumbed down was the one that just took the cake on how big of a sheep you are.

I don't even understand how you missed the whole point of what I said. I'll say it again but at least read things twice before you comment from now on. Kids today are exposed to a lot of technology and they learn because of that technology. Even if they play videogames they will learn something. A kid who places a game that involves mining and smelting will not be an expert on it (I don't think they've made a mining/smelting game that's that advanced) BUT that kid will have the advantage of understanding the material easier than someone who doesn't know the difference between ore and dirt.

Technology alone is responsible for making the average kid of today noticeably smarter than the average kid of any past generation. You can still pretend you're such a genius and everyone around you is an idiot (if your life is that pathetic) but I prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Everything in the world is for profit and the companies who hold this tremendous profit control governments, "hey government, some guy is going to make a cure for cancer and mass product it, we will lose billions!" says the pharmaceutical companies. "No problem, we will just take away their research and tell them its to protect your industry" says the government. Thus is the way of the world, you can't just do shit because you want to.
