It was and it wasn't one. It was essentially a slutwalk. They held it because a police officer made a remark that some women were asking for to be raped when taken into account what they were wearing. It was all about the freedom to express themselves equally. This man expressed himself and they reacted violently. Imagine the opposite, a woman flashing the crowd as it walks by. Would they yell support and joke about it and take it lightly? Or would they violently rush her? Granted, he knew full well that they'd react like that, but all things considered, they really shouldn't have.

Nice intelligent response there. It really challenged my way of thinking of how original and expressive your statement was. I saw that comment days ago. I still stand by my statement.

They need anti-rape rallies? I thought it was a general consensus that rape was bad? Are there pro-rape rallies?

The purpose of the rallies are more for the victims, which there were many in the crowd in that march. The rallies are to empower those to feel safe walking through the streets and be able to express their anger and past fears with other victims. It's more support for victims than anything, as you can see children and males are in the crowd and are most likely family members and friends.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that we feel the need to rally against rape?

I mean, maybe they still need that kind of thing in India (judging from recent news) but I seriously can't think of anywhere in the western world where rape is considered anything less than heinous - street rallies aside.

Are you sure this is in the Western world?

But there are a lot of stupid people on this website who probably think a graph and statistics cannot be manipulated
