You can make some sort of locking mechanism so you can attach whatever you want to the arm. Forks, swords, spoons, sexual tools, etc.

But why does it have to be extremely light?
User avatar #8 - toensix (04/07/2014) [-]
A locking system like that must be very, very well attached to the arm for it be good use in a battle. Something I don't think Jamie would want to do because in the books he talks in long length about how very sensitive his stump is.

The blade must be light because first of all: Swords are fucking heavy. I don't know if you've ever held one but it's not easy to use one. Second: He can't sheath, hold it with two arms or switch arms during battle meaning the fatigue will build up quickly in his arm.

He'd also have to invent a completely new form of sword fighting with such a weapon. It's would be much easier to start using his left hand and have a shield for his right.

We are currently at least two people.
The field of psychology is wide, and I (nr.2) will attempt my best to find any answer should i not know it, and provide link and explanation. Anything related to how the mind works, and other reasons. I don't know how relevant this is to fj, but I would be more than happy to spread some love for the intricate workings that lies behind us all

Personally, I draw the line on warm-blooded creatures in general. Reptiles, amphibians, and fish will never show any emotion or attachedness to any person unless it's for security reasons or trust, which grows just from handling them more. If you injure any of these creatures they don't scream, or show any form of emotion, they just react. As most creatures evolved from a basic nervous system to have stronger and stronger brains as they evolved, mammals and birds would be the furthest along this evolutionary chain. They have stronger brains in general and can actually show was seems to be emotion. This is especially true for dogs, elephants, dolphins, monkeys, and cats. So yeah, you can easily draw the line on mammals. Also bugs don't even fucking count. Sometimes bugs just sit still doing absolutely nothing, or do other retarded things - it's because they literally, in every sense, cannot think - not ONE bit. It's 100% accepted that bugs are just chunks of cells with a nervous system reacting to it's environment.

What about squids? I'm sure they are very intelligent and maybe even capable of attachment. Do birds count? Or just some birds? Chickens and pidgeons are fucking stupid but parrots, crows and ravens are very intelligent.

All mamals? What about mice? I don't think they are capable of even simple emotion. same goes for a lot of rodents.

Exterminators are there for a reason, same with people who have to put down dogs. Usually due to infestation or something of the sort. It isnt abusing the animal its putting it down. There is a large difference, i think ur cute though

Look dude squash as many flies as you like. Personally I think people say all life is sacred but some life is more sacred then other life. That's so fucking stupid. Oh a dog is cudly surely his life is important. A bird? little less important. A fish? Nobody cares.

My point being: Yes animal cruelty is bad and should be punished. By law. I'm sure the owners were prosecuted and got what they had coming.

In my eyes life and objects are equal in the grand scheme of things. A person's life is worth just as little as a toaster. Does that mean we should just kill people and do whatever we like? No of course not because that will fuck it up for everyone. Morality's use is to keep society running. Throw animals in the mix however and you've got yourself a predicament. Why? Because animals themselfs have no morality. You can say a dog's life is sacred but does it think the same about your life? Maybe a bit but they're hard to compare.

tl;dr: It's very hard to have a morally correct non-hypocritical few on animal rights and frankly people get to butthurt about it.

Really? Calling me cute? We can't have a serious argument without throwing mud?

I think largely we draw the line at a cross section of fun / practical / cruelty.
If your being cruel with out any real practical side to it most people will take issue. There are exceptions, most in the name of culture for example bullfighting. To me animal rights are more equatable to property rights. In that you may own land, but society as a whole wont let you start dumping toxic waste because it effects others too much, Justice is hardly perfect in this regard. The dude who nailing puppies to two by fours, then setting them on fire to hear the funny noises. That guy sure the fuck is toxic. Doing what the OP states falls in line with not maintaining your house. In the city you will get fined, because the culture has standards. Keeping your lawn mowed one to do is one of them.
Policing bugs and mice is not something we have the ability to do, even if we wanted. That does not stop the US Fish and Wildlife Services, whos job on some level is just that. I think the issue is not about life, but about the society we think we should live in.( the royal we )
The place society draws the line comes down to where you display habits that make you unfit for said society. So right now fuck fish but leave that puppy alone, but only if you do it the right way.

TLDR philosophy. also, i got too much time on my hands. so unless you do don't read this
