While you seem to almost have a valid point, you're also skewing it a bit. And I'm broaching this subject in as friendly a way as possible, I don't mean for a heated argument.

I do agree that a lot of these stereotypes and predefined gender roles are instated in childhood due to a LARGE number of things, but not just one or two sentences or being told crying is weak. Not everyone is told that, but it's often an unspoken "rule" from watching the men of the last generation. Between that and having "manly" toys and activities thrust upon males and "feminine" counterparts pushed onto females, stereotypes rapidly form over time. And once that starts, being in a society of their own age (School) enforces that, because the group rapidly see's anything foreign or different as weird and not okay, thus enforcing those stereotypes even further and locking them in during adolescence and teen years. Also the primary reason for anti-gay and religious problems.

Women wearing men's clothing isn't seen as a "good" thing. It's neutral. It can be seen as more powerful in some circles, as it displays a person's confidence and will to make themselves known as a more powerful person, which IS indeed a stereotype. But state of dress can be applied to both genders, as someone who walks in dressed in jeans and a T-shirt will receive much less respect than a person in a full suit and tie. It displays their readiness to do business. This could also be applied to any workplace and it's specific clothing set. Dock working, movers, oil rigs.. Dressing for the work just commands more respect and makes sense. As for men wearing women's clothing.. Yeah, that's treated pretty poorly over all.

Why would I want just women to be equal with just men when I should want all of humanity to be on equal grounds and just be a humanitarian?

well unfortunatly real feminist are being forced to take a back seat to the misandrists who have taken up the flag of feminism. this is pretty much being directed at the people who are most often associated with the term feminist in recent years rather than the people who really are feminists.
#116 - toastbender (03/10/2015) [-]
You say that as if the actual feminists are being outnumbered by misandrists, when actually it's just their presence online is notoriously well known about due to all the dick moves that they do.

It's like in England at the moment there seems to be a huge hatred towards muslims with the press, BNP, UKIP and that stupid fucking facebook page Britain First posting shit-stirring content all the time, which in turn makes people think that muslims are all evil, which then the press feed off again.

Every post that gives a bad image of feminism makes it seem worse to people, so the more they post about it.

I dunno, in conclusion, just respect and love <3
