His name was Mandela - Madiba was the first name of one of his sons.
The thing is, 8 % of the entire danish population has subscribed to her on FB.

Thanks. It's correct and I've learned it mostly from college classes in the US, although I'm not from here.

The thing with Scandinavians/Vikings/Norse, their history and their mythology is that they're incredibly popular among the people you can find on the Internet. Everybody loves a good old bad-ass Viking. But this leads some people to disregard historical facts because they don't suit their imaginary ideal of what Scandinavia's place in History was.

When FJ sees an overenthusiastic "otaku" claiming everything from Japan is good and Japan in all anime (I forgot how they're called. Is that "weeaboo"? "waibus"? I'm sure you see who I mean), red thumbs fall quick and numerous. But in the case of an overenthusiastic Viking-lover making obviously false claims, nobody beats an eye.

I think that's too bad because there's a lot more to the history of Vikings than the classic stereotype suggests, and yes these people were awesome and are definitely worthy of our interest. If you want to know more about Nordic settlement in Britain and Anglo-Scandinavian interactions you should read books by D. M. Hadley.

yea its weeaboo. i didnt go to college for various reasons and in public school we barely touched on the more notable aspects of european history which sadly didnt include much about the vikings probably because it wouldve conflicted some other parts of us history like columbus arriving here first and shit. thanks again ill probably check out those books.

How can they outnumber white people in college when there's simply way more white people in the US? Also with the way the jobs are now you're pretty much required to go to college in order to make a living, so people are forced to take gigantic student loans in order to pay for school. That's why the college debt in the US surpassed credit card debt.

holocaust denial has other branches as well
some people believe that the NAZIs didn't intend to kill the Jews honey, I accidentally gassed an entire race of people
some people believe there was no such thing as the final solution policy
some people believe there were no extermination camps

but yeah, most people combine these theories with the Jewish conspiracy

these people are crazy.

Again I'm just speaking from my personal experience. The army is broke. I'm not saying that our budget isn't enormous but the money management skills from the guys in charge is pathetic and incidents like the ones described in this post are just going to further screw over the lower enlisted personnel.

I cant really speak to that. All I can say definitively is that the more the higher ups spend the more we grunts get shafted. In the past 3 months we have had 3 big training events get cancelled because of lack of funding. I'm not sure why I'm getting thumbed down. I'm just explaining how this post will directly affect the frontline of americas fighting force.
#118 - timerce (12/01/2013) [-]
probably because of the outrageous claim that the military has no money when they have a higher budget than the next 10 countries combined

I'm just curious as to why. I'm not saying you dont have the right and I dont really care about the thumb itself. I'm just wondering what about this content made you want to thumb it down.

Alright man. I just always see content that gets thumbed down and I see no reason why it should have been.

Thanks for being such a good sport.
