English doesn't really have a word for the concept of schadenfreude, so we use the German word instead; you're loaning it to us. The word epicaricacy does exist, and is the Ancient Greek derivation of the concept, but most people don't know it; more people know schadenfreude.

There isn't really an English word for schadenfreude, there's epicaricacy, but very few people know it, schadenfreude is becoming a "loan word" from German. Or at least that's what I thought.

"schadenfeude" ist ein deutsches Fremdwort in der englischen Sprache, also passt das schon.
