The EU has also passed various laws in recent years offending Microsoft and the porn industry.

Imagine the shitshow that would happen if, on the same day, Google, Facebook, Youtube, and most of the largest porn sites all disappeared from europe. What if on the same day, xbox live got cut off, and windows and office were no longer available for sale, and tech support wasn't offered.

Then on all of these websites, there was simply a message saying:
"We're sorry this isn't available in your country. Due to laws passed by the following representatives, it is no longer legally feasible to offer our services to you. If you would like this content returned to your area, we suggest you contact your representative and tell them how to better represent your values, or vote for a replacement who will.

Bill. Joe. Bob Etc."

The collective pants-shitting of all the politicians would be glorious.

There is a certain point where we need corporations to flex some muscle if the EU lost Microsoft Google and say Cisco they would be sorely lacking.

What do you mean by you being a homosexual? Because homosexuality isn't "screwed in the eyes of Catholicism," that's mostly propaganda.

Do you have sexual attraction to members of the same sex? If so, big deal. You're no worse off than someone dealing with an addiction to pornography, which would be a large portion of even some of the most devout Catholic men.

Do you watch homosexual pornography? Then see above.

Do you physically touch penises and put them in your mouth/anus? In that case, you're no worse off than someone with a sex addiction.

People in modern culture have convinced us that Catholicism condemns people of different lifestyles to hell and hates them, but in reality that's just not true. In fact, it's far greater a sin to condemn a person to hell than to watch homosexual porn, but regardless both will be forgiven provided that they are reconciled correctly.

Then explain why "sodomy" is punishable by death according to Church 500 years ago or so?
User avatar
#147 - etiennesk (12/29/2015) [-]
Firstly, it's my understanding that the Church itself has never utilized the death penalty; certain clergymen would be used to determine a heretic, but it was generally the secular Kings who would issue the death order because most kingdoms saw an act against God to be an heinous act against the Kingdom. The worse the Church would do is excommunicate someone.

As for why the Church had for so long condemned sodomy? It was seen as impure. I say was for reasons which I'll explain later. Sodomy is no longer considered a sin, though it is considered dirty... Fun fact: while I was in the army I found out from the Chaplain that sodomy --as well as any sexual position other than missionary-- is still banned, but not by the Church, instead by the army itself the theology behind it was because it was a sexual action which made conception impossible. In Catholicism, sexual actions must, along with being between a married couple, always* be open to the possibility of procreation. This is why it is still a sin for Catholic couples, even married, to use most forms of contraception interestingly, natural family planning is actually allowed and often encouraged for young married couples, despite NFP being more effective than condoms when done correctly .

* funny enough, it is now technically allowed for married couples to participate in other forms of sexual activity. The rule now is evidently: so long as you cum inside her vagina, you can "get hard" as well as "finish her off" any way you wish...

Ack! The Spanish Inquisition?! I didn't expect that!!

actually I did, that's why I mentioned the monarchs. It was under the laws of the King and Queen, attempting to "cleanse" the new country of non-Catholics to make themselves seem more holy, that those people were killed. Clergymen we're not allowed to issue a death penalty, though it can be argued that the Inquisitors very plainly knew the fates of their victims and didn't follow their Catholic duty of protecting them and preserving life.. Catholics had a history of corruption...

Well the same RE teacher that spent 3 days saying why same sex couples shouldn't exist from a catholic standpoint also says that homosexuals can go to heaven? It was on some bullshit grounds like that you're not even allowed to have a partner or something so in my eyes that's just crap.

Go confess those sins and do the repentance correctly.
According to catholic doctrine you're golden after doing that, as long as you don't do so much as do it again.
