You may thing that, but you don't realize that the retina display is just pixel density, not pixel clarity, so have all the pixels you want, it just wont be any difference. Like most things macs constantly need more apps to use their features, so you'll only be able to use that display with certain apps.

Think*. Also just an addition, I tried my best to make the specs of a Macbook Pro 15 match the specs of a HP dv6t-7200, and it turned out I could buy 4 quality computers over 1 Mac. You're move Apple.

I respect your opinion, but I think the price is rather fair.
The hardware is mostly up-to-date, you can run Winodws on it if you don't like OSX, it has a great build quality and high quality materials coupled with 7 hours of battery life.
If you know of any other laptop with the specs and high quality materials of a Mac Book Pro Retina for a lower price I will gladly get that one instead of the Mac.

Look at the specs for the Alienware M18x. For the same price as your Macbook Pro with retina you can get an 18 inch powerhouse of a laptop with a bigger memory, overclocked processor, more powerful graphics card and you can actually game on it as well as edit with the same precision and performance of a Mac. Although I do respect that Macs are known for being perfect for editing I've tried many and found the interface confusing and over-the-top. It's like they tried to do the complete opposite of Windows with everything just to say a massive 'Fuck you' to Microsoft.
