If you can get used to the Acolyte's charging I'd go with it. It stripes off shields and barriers off most units in 1-2 hits, only like 3-4 for Banshees, then it's burn baby burn.

Been trying paladin, typhoon, and geth trooper w/flamer build

I just keep getting cut down too often. Do I need to run away more? Do I need to check my surroundings more often? How often should I stay with my team because I really like doing tech combos with the paladin but detonating my snap freeze stuff on my own is a bitch.

I'm not a fan of the Paladin personally. Some do okay but I think it kinda sucks.

With the Geth Trooper Flame, your goal is to stay in cover as much as possible and yes, keep moving. Most importantly don't work alone if you don't have to, it is by far better in a group rather than alone. I'm hoping you're using the Acolyte with the Geth Trooper Flamer build, it ties it all together allowing you to easily strip barriers and shields that flames do little against.
