No war would start, the other countries would be fine as long as trading kept up. Peace negotiations would bring matters like that into account. Being on good terms with another country doesn't insure their help if the U.S. wanted to take Canada. Why would other countries waste precious war resources to help? Men, money, and other items would be wasted to come to a stalemate? No, unless it majorly affected another country, no aid would come to a domestic dispute.
