I want to play it again, and get the DLC, but the DLC is so fucking expensive. Like, stupidly so. Two of the three big ones is equal to the GOTY edition price.

Nah. Science has a way of deliberately ignoring societal rules. Yes, maybe at some point someone will petition for something related to gender to changed- but the scientific community has never played like that. If the Spanish Inquisition burning scientists at the stake didn't stop them from practicing why would a bunch of hormonally challenged keyboard-jockeys change anything?
