And don't get me wrong, filler can be enjoyable, but it's still filler. For someone like me, who really values the author and their intents, I just can't tolerate what Kyo Ani has gotten into the habit of doing. Churning out works of filler that can't even be called proper adaptions. When they actually DO follow complete source material, their work is fantastic however. Like Hyouka.

I'll be honest, I only really started watching it because it looked pretty with all the lighting and such, same for Hibike. It was, I think, the first Anime I ever watched. I see where you're coming from with the filler, I guess its kinda sad that it went off canon from the novel. But knowing nothing about that, I enjoyed it none the less. Ending was a bit messed up though.

Kyokai no kanata is all filler. With filler characters, and was adapted from a single light novel so the beginning is probably the only canon part. Which makes it bad. Thats why stuff like Chuni and Kyokai never went anywhere, because it couldn't go anywhere.

anything that is anime original or filler is empty, hollow, and ultimately meaningless, UNLESS the entire anime is an original story to begin with (aka no source material)
