actually softcore vegans permit consuming free-range eggs, red food colouring and honey.
as red food colouring is made from a specific insect carcass (an insect having no measurable thought) we can therefore state that bugs are vegan, however hardcore vegans will disagree. as an extension of that, officially spiders are neither animal nor insect, however they too appear to lack conscious thought and a developing personality, therefore killing spiders and insects is justifiable to a soft vegan, but not a hard one.
the difference between these two stir up quite a lot of trouble in vegan communities, but it's safe to say that within a position, all extremes are bad

Though question; From a biological stance I believe it's down-right riduculous, as eating (and cooking) meat, due to its high caloric value, was a major factor in the development of mankind. This also implies that our bodies are adapted for an omnivorous lifestyle, bringing with it the need for nutritional supplements when choosing to pursue a purely vegan diet.
From an ethical stance, however, who am I to decide what ideals another individual should have? I understand their ideas and agree with certain facets of them (the way we handle food and animals is simply terrible), so as long as they don't force other human beings, such as children who really need the nutritionous meat to develop properly, I can perfectly live with it.

just so you know, every single thing you can get from meat and dairy, you can get in non-meat and non-dairy products in greater amounts with next to no negative effects such as osteoporosis, which cow milk has proven to have a negative effect on, as well as various others especially cancer! . hemp milk is cray good for you, more good stuff, no bad stuff and gets you most of your essential oils like omega 3 and 6 which are also in greater amounts than in fish and the best part is: unless you have a serious and extremely rare illness, anything edible that requires use of animals or their by-products can be made without using them

my definition of it would include capacity to think outside of instincts, even the ability to transcend instincts and a clear way to tell if a creature can think would be a yes to any of the following: can they learn? can they solve a problem? do they feel emotions outside of instinctual preservation? can they express embarrassment or guilt? do they have a personality?
cows, pigs and chickens in this regard are no different to dogs, cats and horses.
they are alive, they answer yes to at least one of those questions therefore it is immoral to kill them for food if there are alterantive options available.

In the books she never actually ever meets Gendry. She tries to kill another of Robert's bastards instead but Davos smuggles him away. And the shadow demon was to kill Renly who posed a threat to Stannis whom she believes is Azor Ahai, the only one who can stop the Others.
