| Are you a sociopath? Genetically or psychologically dysfunctional? Or just a troll? Yes we can prioritise what we eat, why can't we? Vegetarians and vegans do it. Every culture does it. You dumb ass. You both look like dumbasses. Although theredscarab is right, there is no possible way that every human on Earth could eat fruit, vegetables and other organic foods over meat, because there would never be enough. We'd have to turn to meat, the animals who depend on the organic food would starve and then so would the animals who rely on meat and then bam, we'd have to eat each other because we've fucked over the entire planet. Nice try, vegans. We grow fruit and vegetables, with much less resources than it would take to cultivate animals. It's not like we're going out into the wild and hunting apples. Breeding animals is counter-productive because you need to feed them, growing crops is productive because they take their energy from the sun and live mostly off of water. You argue with all the credibility of an Islamic extremist or a Westboro Baptist fundamentalist. We cannot grow enough crops to do this. Doesn't matter about how much more productive it is, we do not have enough fertile land or enough resources to have all of mankind live off of organic foods without destroying our planet. I don't see your problem with eating meat anyway. Sure we make animals suffer, but that literally is nature. It's not as if, without the influence of humans, all the animals would just get along, have little dinner parties at which some would agree to be eaten and then be painlessly killed for food. If anything, nature is many times more barbaric than we are. Yeh I'm the extremist even though you're the one making the wild claim. How the fuck won't we be able to grow enough crops? Is there a cosmic limit to how much crops can exist in the universe at one time? Oh fertile land, like those MASSIVE farms used for about 50 cows? If that's nature then nature is evil and so we're cultivating evil. Saying it's 'nature' is a shit justification anyway and could probably be stretched to allow ANY act. for the record... i'm autistic with add and sociopathic tendencies The fact that nature can be stretched to allow any act is true, and a good thing. It means you have to accept that, whether it's right or wrong, anything CAN happen. Right now, there are a million people going through some kind of pain or torture which to you or I would be unbearable. To them, it no longer matters if it's right or wrong. Open your mind, nature's not about justification, it's always been there, before and beyond humanity, and it's done everything we think right or wrong. I'm also going to go out on a limb and suggest that you have no clue about farming, because not all land suitable for animals is suitable for crops. There is a limited supply of fertile land on the planet, and if we grow the amount of crops you think we should, we'll overfarm an it'll all turn to pretty much sand. We have to do both. Not ALL land is suitable but a lot is. And there are systems that stop fertile land from degrading that we've had for about a thousand years. And what the fuck on about with this nature crap? I know that anything can happen, I'm not 6. I know that people are suffering, again I'm not 6. Great point. You win this argument. I wonder what 6 year olds argue like anyway? They'd probably just end it all with an insult. Wait . . . I stopped caring too long ago for it to matter. It's over. Let's just leave it. | ||

funkyrednipples (01/28/2013) [-] I respect it as animals are slaughtered in a pretty bad way these days, and treated bad throughout their lives, but I still eat meat because our bodies are designed to eat meat. I am sure that vegetarians will disagree with me though. As humans evolved our brains grew bigger and we needed more nutrients than what plant foods gave us, we would have had to eat a lot more plant foods to feed for our growing brains. Meat was the solution to this because we didn't have to eat as much to get the nutrients that we needed. Here is an article that shows how much protein is in meat, compared to plant based foods, you will need to scroll down a little: fitnessblackbook.com/diet-tips/why-we-need-meat/ It is much cheaper to eat meat than a protein rich vegetarian diet. If you just look at our teeth, you can tell that they are designed to eat both meat and vegetables. Also, vitamin B12 only comes from meat/fish/poultry. Here is a link to back that up: http://drbenkim.com/nutrient-b12.html Of course, in this day and age, we can do without meat. But I think its better to eat meat and only buy my meat from local merchants and not supermarkets. Their animals are free-range, live healthy lives eating grass and wandering around on a farm and are slaughtered humanely. This isn't possible everywhere to buy your meat this way, but I live in a small city surrounded by farms and it is easy to buy produce from local farmers rather than supermarkets where I don't know where the meat comes from or how the animal was treated. I don't know much about this, but I hope it helps. Some cows have better and longer lives than they would have as free without medicine, waterbeds and wolf protection. Slaughtering is done with anaesthetics and is less painfull than natural death. Humans need concentrated energy to think. Collecting grass all day takes time. Sheep are much happier than us. Please don't take this as in "omg this dick just insulted my family" and make a shit storm about it. Well that's fine, but it's still economically counter-productive. It costs a lot of money to feed animals through-out their lives. Sure, but you said it was expensive. I'm simply showing you that it's not. You're a fucking moron. You know why you're wrong. Look up a few inches on your monitor. You really need a girlfriend or something, or just a friend. Unless you have aspergers syndrome which would explain a lot. How old are you? If you're as young as your understanding of conversational context would lead me to believe then I really think you shouldn't be debating people. You can't just isolate one comment of a discussion and respond to it like a fuckin' robot, you need a least a BASIC understanding of what point is being made and why and in what context. The criticisms of eating meat I gave were "economically inefficient and cultivates suffering". CAFO cultivates suffering. So it's not a reasonable solution. Now go out and get laid. I never disagreed with what you said about CAFO, nor did I ever say it was a solution. You're putting words in to my mouth. I simply said it wasn't expensive. And you're criticizing me for not reading... I'm saying you're talking nonsense. Why there was no point to what you said. If you don't have a point then don't talk. I'm not talking nonsense. I'm simply making the statement that CAFO isn't expensive. There's not anything more to it. That's funny. It's a waste of money to feed animals plants and grass but you do the same with humans. Humans aren't bred in factories. If animals couldn't suffer then I'd have no problem with hunting. #235

funkyrednipples (01/29/2013) [-] is there a problem in doing so? and besides when animals can stand up for themselves i will respect them, and guess what if humans were on the menu i would be a cannibal... we eat what we can manage to get... it's not like everyone on the earth can just priortise vegetables before other possible food sources... please get eaten by a more honorable animal... like a mouse...
