His nervous system was damaged/altered by experimental operations. Reportedly he had "Boren's Syndrome" but this was a cover up made by ONI. And it's funny, because the abbreviation of Boren's Syndrome is BS, or Bull Shit. Originally the UNSC wanted to make "super soldiers" with superhuman strength, vision, ability, etc. But they wanted these soldiers to be able to reproduce and make more generations of super soldiers, referred to as Spartan 1.1s. It was mostly a failure, and most Spartan 1s were killed in action. And few, if any, had any kids.  #174
