Speaking of the EU, I haven't really read much into it but I know that the 501st Legion is still the Emperor's right hand some hundred years following the Battle of Yavin. This pleases me to know they've stayed strong throughout the ages.

I don't think members of the 501st would still be around by that time. Clones body's degenerate very quickly, so they'd all be dead within 25 years or something like that. I mean, they could be 501st and not be clones, but IDK about any of that, I haven't read those books.

Oh, the original clones of the 501st had all died by that point, of course, but it was still the traditionally most badass group of super-elite fighters the Empire had. I'm not sure if they were still all Fett clones or regular humans at that point, though logically the Empire would probably stop cloning Fett at some point or another. Probably got too expensive for them to keep the program up, and they were just not effective to be worth the cost, or something.

Ah, ok I didn't know that. They actually destroyed the Kamino cloning facility after a bunch of clones turned against the Empire just after Order 66. It was a rather...brutal encounter. I believe it was led by pre-suit Vader, but I could be wrong about that.

i do understand that, but once you are at a level where you know each and every individual in the country, to all intents and purposes, must do business with you, i feel that you have a responsibility to be ethical. you are correct that it is a business and when starting a business the idea is to make as much money as you can, but i just don't like the idea of banks as a business. i can't describe how pissed off i am when i see senior executives at banks (especially government owned ones) getting hundreds of thousands of pounds as bonuses after a year of loss while i see the education and health budget slashed in all areas to scrounge pennies together. i can't think of another line of work where you can lose hundreds of millions of pounds from the value of your company and be fucking rewarded for it.

i realise i've gone off track and it's irrelevant as the process of banking is a legal and accepted thing, i just have a problem with it being that way. share the wealth, man; the poor masses always get screwed.

Actually, banks have been known to willing give out loans on houses/other things, knowing full well that the person they gave it to lacks the ability to pay the loan back. Its what caused the housing market crash.

regardless of whether you think banks are fair or not, i dispute your belief that you have a choice as to whether to enter a contract with one. while technically correct, the reasonable person will without doubt enter into a contract with a bank in their adult life as it is such an intergrated and accepted part of society.

it is fair to assume that almost everybody will have a bank account, and it is also reasonable to say that for the great majority of the population, taking out a mortgage or taking out a loan is the only way to buy a house or start a business. personally, i think banks should be there for those reasons, to allow people to buy their own house and to start their own businesses, without the principle goal of shafting each and every client to the highest extent they are able, to maximise profits for the benefit of those in the top tiers of the banks.

But it is a BUSINESS. Somebody started that business just like the people you say are getting loans from the banks. But that business shouldn't try and maximize its profits? And they don't, they give you reasonable interest rates because banks are competitive.

Every single job requires you to have a bank account, employers don't pay you your wages via bundles of cash in an envelope handed over a counter anymore, boy

Paycheck? The paycheck is symbolical of the bank transfer these days, boy. Most, if not all jobs pay your wages via bank transfer. There is no more physical handing over of cash or checks anymore due to exploitation

The whole "Banks are bad" mindset comes from the fact that privately owned businesses as they are get to be upkept/maintained/salvaged by public (State) money in the event they make a boo-boo.

Update, I just recently did a botched clean sweep of my Fallout 3 to start all over Vanille, and after moving in out of my programs folder again Fomm seems to be willing to work, Granite I'm using the still barbaric method of putting things straight in the Data folder, but I can't seem to find where Fomm is, so oh well.
