If you go a certain amount over the limit or reach a specific speed (depends on the state) you can indeed be charged criminally.

Shrinks makes everyone insane, haven't met anyone who visited a shrink who weren't booted out the door with a diagnosis hammered down their throat.

I'm not going back to tumblr, not unless I delete my blog then recreate it, I still have followers and I know some of them in real life. I grew up with the internet, learning to laugh at things, not taking myself too serious. But tumblr, I had to leave, I just didn't feel welcome.

It was too fake "let's be nice to each other". I made a couple of the usual quips I would on 4chan or Funnyjunk, just humorous for fun and people cried out for my head, okay maybe not that dramatic but still.

And the stuff people I knew IRL posted, made me think they hated me for being myself - male and wouldn't want otherwise - though as I confronted them with the stuff they brushed it aside as "that is just how things are on tumblr" - well if that is how things are on tumblr, it isn't a place I want to be. Not with people I can actually look in the eyes.

So what you are telling me is that the entire website behaves like that comic about friendships between sexes (men will help each other with the box, while it takes six girls to lift one box but we know some of them are pretending)?

I guess that is also part of circlejerk.

Come on, even tumblr can not be that stupid. You want anon hate? You write insults to you'reself but make sure you click "post anonymously" then pretend to write a kick-ass response that cleverly "annihilates" the points the "anon" tried to make.

Don't want anon hate? Disable it

Technical flair not required, it is easier to fake anon-hate on tumblr than make a post on 4chan. Hell, I'm kind of surprised tumblr hasn't faked anon-hate these past days to make them seem like a victim compared to 4chan, though they might notice the IP being logged or some bullshit reason

That being said, there is legit anon-hate on tumblr, never been on the receiving myself, but the more famous the more hate ("success breeds jealousy").

Though yes, you are fairly right on some parts, in my own story I got out "early" so my story isn't so extreme - and for the most part if they argue this in front of me, I can usually counter-argue (once had to explain to someone face-to-face that Japan isn't a magical land that is entirely unable to hurt a fly and that all the concepts they revered as Japanese culture were the Japanese trying to imitate the American culture following the Second World War's unconditional surrender).

Tumblr is a blogging site, don't forget that. Never mind that one can upload pictures or that the blog posts are usually stuff like a few words.

Tumblr hasn't been designed to be a debate forum, there is no consistent layout to easily navigate linked posts, on you're "dashboard" you have the option of seeing who is reblogging it from who and who originally posted it. You can't see the posts individual posts made or added, or rather yes you can, but then you'd have to dig through every "note" a post has (a post get a note every time someone reblogs or favourites something).

So in order to get "famous" on tumblr, you have to post stuff with tags, then someone searches those tags, finds you're post, reblogs it, it appears on their followers' dasboards who can then easily reblog it causing it to end up on the-followers' followers' dashboard.

4chan's recent raid went successful because they raided the tags (#example) such as Feminism, which you can track, though I don't think you can follow tags so every new post appear on you're dash.

You aren't forced to know about stuff you don't like, now don't get me wrong. I can scroll through the religions board on Funnyjunk and probably find three morons and five trolls. Do I have to ignore them? Yes, but I'm aware of their existence.

On tumblr if I wanted to look at stuff about one religion, I'd search for e.g. "#christianity" or something else, but stuff like "#islam" or "#muslims" wouldn't appear unless someone else tagged it with "#christianity", but I wouldn't be forced to read through a forum worth of posts describing religions from multiple angels.

What if someone else then uploaded a shit tonne of things you don't want under those tags? You block that person. This is how 4chan succeeded because they made so many users/blogs (which isn't that hard) and mass-blogged gore which tumblr couldn't respond to.

Now if we take this to a more internet-related level in my next post...
#29 - caffeinecommissar (07/13/2014) [-]
Who are the most annoying fuckers on the internet? Furries, or it used to be furries, now they are called "otherkin" because even the furries grew tired of their shit (I hope).

I'm not talking people who say "I like foxes", "wolves are kind of badass" or even "I'm a human and I'd fuck that mudkip". I'm talking picture related kind of shit "I'm a fox trapped in a human body" kind of deal.

Take a group of them, put them in a forum with very limited exposure to the outside, and what happens? A circle jerk, probably the biggest since the one in Nuremberg in 1934, but that is moot.

They'll sit down, someone will post something like "I think cis-humans are meanies for not letting us act like animals in public! #furdom #hashtag #moreshit" it will appear in the #furdom hashtags and people who track the #furdom hashtags will be the ones who see it.

Guess who won't see it, the people who track the "#yiffinhell" tag, guess who won't bother tracking the #yiffinhell tag? The ones who track #furdom.

Thousands of small circlejerks. Same concept applies to feminism, fabulous and sparkly-rights - Hell even the tumblr blogs we are/should be rooting can be guilty of this. You can't see on the outside - hell not even on the inside - of one of these circle jerks how big they are, they could have tens, hundreds and thousands of people, the only indicator would be how many unique usernames reblogs the things.

We have been told thousands of times "people are different from one another" and "everyone is unique" - it kind of applies here too - while Furry no. 228 and Furry no. 139 are both furries, they each have different interests.

This will cause the circlejerk to seem like it has people from all walks of life and it probably does: Except they only have furries, every person who ever uploads anything negative to #furdom will either be blocked or won't be reblogged so the criticism is never shared amongst them.

(More stupid shit coming, the most important things has been said by now)
#35 - caffeinecommissar (07/13/2014) [-]
Now, for a moment, let's pretend that there is a moderate (not extremist) blog who does find criticism of their thing, and who doesn't block them and who takes their time to write out responses to the criticism.

Al right, their response to the criticism is posted, they concede on some points and don't on others. This is now shared amongst the people who follow that blog (I used #furdom as an example before, going to keep doing that), who is likely to follow that blog?

People who like the stuff they post, people who agree with it. Let me give an example:

I used to have a tumblr blog, I posted a lot of different stuff. Some anime, some role playing games and sometimes stuff like... this, picture related.

I could count on the same people reblogging the anime stuff but not touching the role playing games stuff, the RPG people wouldn't touch the anime stuff.

And the "WE ARE TIME"? Neither of them reblogged or asked any questions about it, those who reblogged it? Their blogs were all the same, I don't mean carbon copies, but they were similar - similar style of photos, similar style of "artsy", similar descriptions, similar everything.

That was one hell of a digression though.

So back to the #furdom - someone moderate, a sensible person, responds to criticism of furdom? Those who see it and respond to this will be the furries, not the anti-furries, and they will back up the person who responded, not the criticiser. And the more extreme furries may even act so extremely in their behaviour that the moderate furry seems crazy by association.

Tumblr shuts themselves in, into their own little circles and barely peeking out, rarely seeking to argue outside of their comfort zone. Why would they? Everything they want to find can be found on tumblr.

4chan on the other hand? I can stay on /tg/ but someone can still call me out on my bullshit, and there certainly won't be ten ass-wipes defending me, unless I have a really popular opinion.
User avatar #71 - fuzzysixx (07/13/2014) [-]

Kittehs=10/10

having both on one site alternating makes them stay optimally enjoyable.
#80 - caffeinecommissar (07/13/2014) [-]
Yeah, I can understand and agree to that, but going to say I can't agree with them being the best two things.

I need my coffee, wouldn't be much of a caffeine commissar if I didn't. Boobies, 2nd, Kitties ( more of a dog person though, so consider dog/pet interchangeable here ) 3rd are okay with me.
